Pre-order DiRT and unlock ten cars in-game |
Ó
It seems that Codemasters, the people responsible for the racing game DiRT (also known as Colin McRae Rally 2007, Colin McRae Rally 6, DiRT: Colin McRae Off-Road EU, Colin McRae: DiRT in the UK ...argh so many names!) is trying their best to convince people to get the game early. At the moment they're using ten unlockable cars and exclusive videos of Travis Pastrana as bait.Beginning May 29 until DiRT's June launch, people who pre-order the game (at places like BestBuy.com, Amazon.com, GameStop/EB and GameCrazy and other retailers) will be given an access code that should allow you to unlock 10 cars in the game.
Included in that Car package are the following: a Subaru Impreza WRX-RA STI version II, a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, a Peugeot 205 T16, a Lancia Delta S4, an Icker Jimco buggy, a McMillin Racing Car, a Kamaz 4911, a MAN TGA, a Freightliner Century Class S/T, and a Kenworth T2000.
That code will also let you unlock videos of off-road celebrity Travis Pastrana, but we're thinking that you're all probably more interested in the cars... right? Anyhow, Collin McRae: DiRT is set to be released for the Microsoft Xbox 360, the PC, and the Sony PlayStation 3.

Even though my major at university was not related to computer science, I have taken many computer courses as a part-time student for one year. By the way, I live in Japan. My cousin whose major is computer informatics brought his computer booklet (small book) to my home; I spent a few hours to read it to kill some time. I translated all the Japanese texts into English. For your benefits, read the following paragraphs to increase your knowledge. If you want to compare the speeds (performances) of different CPUs, the best way to do so is executing some benchmark software. If you can’t, then you can do some math and calculate the values. (1) System architecture: PS2’s EE (emotion engine, CPU, by Great Sony & Amazing Toshiba) is implemented in 128 bit technology. EE was mass produced in 1999 and 2000; at that time, all PCs (personal computer) in the world were made in 32 bit tech. Then later (a few years later), Intel and AMD (advanced micro devices) which are world’s 1st and 2nd biggest CPU manufacturers for PC industry, started to produce CPUs based on 64 bit tech. PC industry will have to go a long way (many years) until PC CPUs are made in 128 bit tech. (2) Clock speed (frequency) (3) Front Side Bus (FSB, bus width, path, system bus): is the physical bi-directional data path. (Quote) “PS2’s CPU has 300 MHz speed, and PS2 console can run very complex games like God of War 2, Winning Eleven (Pro E. S.) 2007, Final Fantasy XII, and so on. On the other hand, my old PC’s CPU has 1.5 GHz (1,500 MHz) speed, and it can barely run very old games. How can it happen when my PC CPU is five (x5) times faster than the speed of PS2 CPU?” (Unquote) I have read comments like the above many times which have been written by ign+rant and mor+nic losers. This is why many of you must read this informal essay (summary) to study and learn something. As I said earlier, bigger frequency (MHz) doesn’t mean anything; you must consider all 3 factors: architecture, clock speed, and bus width. PS2’s CPU (300 MHz) is as fast as 1.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4 CPU. 300MHz EE = 1,500 MHz Pentium 4 (Standard Edition) (Or) 300 MHz EE = 3.0 GHz Celeron * 2 = (Celeron) 6,000 MHz worth of speed Sony and Toshiba’s PS2 CPU is five (x5) times faster than Intel’s standard CPU. PS2 CPU is twenty (x20) times faster than Intel’s Celeron CPU. Intel’s standard CPU is four (x4) times faster than Intel’s Celeron CPU. Intel’s Celeron CPU (I don’t have enough writing space to educate you on this term, visit online encyclopedia and study by yourself) is basically a dumbed-down version of Standard Edition; therefore, Celerons are so cheap. The booklet (this booklet was published in Apr. 2007) also talks about PC CPUs. Currently, the fastest CPU on PC is... Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6800 Quad-Core: $1,500 (tax inclusive, in US dollar). If you don’t have money then you may buy this dumbed-down version... Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core: Mere $600 (tax inclusive). If you don’t get enough pocket money from your mom and dad then get the Duo version... Intel Core 2 Duo: Only $140 (tax inclusive). PS3’s Cell Microprocessor (1 main core + 7 active Synergistic Processing Units) was jointly developed by a Sony, Toshiba, and IBM (an alliance known as STI). PS3’s Cell CPU is ten (x10) times faster than the speed of QX6800 Quad-Core ($1,500). You lowly-educated idi+ts always say that PS3 console is over-priced; you must be illiterate or blind. A chart in this book shows something interesting (see below). If we say the speed of PS2’s CPU is six (6), then it becomes easy to compare all the other CPUs. 6 --- PS2 7 --- GameCube 9 --- Xbox 1 12 --- Intel Pentium 4 (3.0 GHz Standard) 13 --- Wii 20 --- QX6800 Quad-Core 100 --- X360 200 --- PS3 Just for your reference or ignorance (to fill in your stupidity), IBM and Japanese companies like Fujitsu and Hitachi are world’s leading manufacturers of SuperComputers. Currently (in 2007), world’s fastest SuperComputer is IBM’s Blue Gene (used in the department of US Nuclear Security). Its sp
if i cared what the systems powers were i would go to a different website and find it jeez this is suppost to be about DiRT not PS3 vs PC vs 360
