Before we continue, we better make sure that you guys are getting the distinction. The beer and the note, that was Microsoft itself. This next instance was committed by some MS supporters. With that out of the way, here's the story:
The first incident happened in Paris. As it goes, a big boat sailed past the long queue of people waiting to get their hands on the system. The said boat was Xbox 360-themed and carried the message, "Xbox 360 love you" (alright, "heart" or "less than three" for the nitpicky ones out there). See for yourself in this image from Kotaku. Meanwhile, we'll leave you to formulate your own conclusions.
The next stop for the pranksters was big ol' London. As you all know, it was where the "big event" was held, with Sony having partnered itself with Virgin Megastores. Just before midnight on the night of the launch, the line of people was rather long and the London midnight air is not exactly good for one's health. Luckily though, some friendly dudes gave away free chairs for people to sit on. To PS3 fans' surprise, the chairs sport the message "Shouldn't have kept you waiting" and the website "www.shkyw.org." We head over to the said URL and found the message... well, you better just see for yourself if you haven't already.
Talk about cutthroat marketing.

If you love and support Microsoft, that's great. But make sure you do it with a level head and for the right reason, with your own research and conclusion. Not because someone on the blog or forum said how great it is.
The only thing worse than a blind fanboy is a manipulated monkey duped by PR.....
It looks more like Microsoft is doing the right thing, by helping people to understand that buying a PS3 is just like throwing your money away. I applaud Microsoft for such a wonderful act, and if they can even save one poor, lost soul, from losing his or her hard earned money, to an inferior system, they've done god's work and will.

Whomever is responsible for this is a jackass but you can't hold these types of antics against all MS fans or MS themselves. The Xbox platform (just like the PS platform) does have some less "mature" followers.

well, in Paris, le PS3 launch was a complete failure. the "long queue" of people only bought 5% of the available PS3s. There were more journalists than customers.
I see nothing "sneaky" about sailing a brightly lit boat down a river...or giving out chairs for people to sit on.
It's true, PS3 is late, what so bad about citing facts ? If they had went with DVD they would have been released around the same time....

I have a 360, and have had it for about three months. A Wii, And, as of today, a PS3. One of microsoft fanboys best defences is XBOX LIVE. And i agree with them, its a great service and i no longer play singleplayer games its so good. I was worried that the PS3's online service would be typical sony, PS2 online was appauling to say the least.
But the PS3's setup was fast AND free, it is very simelar (if not better) than LIVE, there seem to be no teething problames (in europe at least) except that there is not alot of content.
These are evenly matched consoles and nomatter how much fanboys slag off eachothers console, its always the same result...Wii sucks!

The XBOX has worse graphics but a better price, the Xbox has better online (at the moment) but sony's is half decent and FREE.
As for games, probably the most important part, 360 wins, but they have had more time, all sony need is someone to take advantage of SIXAXIS, a great feature, and they are ahead of Microsoft.
Now on topic, F**K sake Microsoft, Why?! You have a reputation for being a big succesful SENSIBLE company and you go and do this. Its like a 70 Year old man learning to skate and play guitar.

Funny, I have both the 360 and the PS3, and I have to tell you, I have played 3 excellent games on the PS3. God of War II, Final Fantasy 12, and Space Rogue. Wow, that was $600.00 well spent. Oh, and poor me, I only had gear of war, splinter cell, crackdown, dead rising, oblivion, .. wait, ive had too many good games to play for the 360. Huh. Weird.

That's ridiculous to think that average Joes cobbled together the cash to 1) rent a boat, 2) pay for signage with exactly-perfect xbox 360 logos, 3) have someone drive the boat up and down along the river at night. You've got to be a sucker to believe that. In regards to the interesting link to the Need for Speed Carbon comparisons; that's hardly a smackdown on PS3. If anything, the supposed lighting deficiencies on the PS3 version I think are not that, but enhanced lighting algorithms that are correctly lighting objects from points in 3D space (I forgot the actual term for this method), rather than just a big, broad fill light on the polygons. For example, the rear-view of the car in the PS3 version is clearly lighted more naturally than the 360 version. Additionally, the light halos on PS3 look much more like a real blurring of high-intensity light, than just a 'fake-out' of a bright point of light.
This is just a very desperate attempt period. Thats like Burger King running into McDonalds and TRYING to steal their customers. If the consumer wanted a whopper they would have gone to BK, not BK going into McDonalds and yelling "Hey, we sell burgers too you know, dont forget about us!"
Just sad. I wish the best for MS, just like I wish the best for the Sega Dreamcast. Hopefully MS dont fall into fate and end up making games for the Wii and Playstation.

What is that supposed to show? nothing. Xbox has been out for about a year longer than both systems, so its a no brainer it will have more sold. PS3 has been out for several months. Xbox 260 + $300 for crap version + $100 for only 20 GBs + $50 for wireless controller + $100 for wireless add-on + $200 for HD DVD attachment. That total is $750 just to get it somewhat close with the PS3. So you 360 fanboys can stop *****ing about not having enough money to get a PS3, cause if you can do math (which I'm not too sure you all can) you could've got a 60 GB PS3. If any other dumb***** fanboy needs help with the math, feel free to let me know (I know you all could use the boost in IQ once you learn addition).

I never thought I'd say this but i might just buy a Ps3 soon. I used to hate it but when i asked myself why i couldn;t come up with a reason. There are "fanboys" for each system and don't try and tell me one is worse then the other. Actually the only fanboys i've ever seen have been on the internet. And the last time i checked, i don't live on the internet, i live in reality where fanboys aren't the majority.
so why buy a ps3?, its only 100 bucks more for a version with blue ray, ability to install other OS (linux), the online is free, and you can install whatever size HD you want yourself if you so desire.
Nobody is forcing you to buy a PS3, so why be mad because it costs more? Perhaps because you want one really bad but you can't afford it?

Remember when 360 came out, it was all "OMG there's nothing good for it", and the best game was perfect dark zero. Xbox fans don't seem to remember that. Who still plays perfect dark zero? nobody. So my point is that good games, and more players, will come in time to sony. Will 360 outsell and be more of a success then ps3? sure, but in the same way that the ps2 was more of a success then the 1st Xbox. Actually, the ps3 is in the same situation that the Xbox was last generation. Few games and few fans with a vast untapped potential...
...do you really think everyone is going to buy all that crap...no and wireless connection is crap as well as the fact that most video games look crappy on hdtvs. Then there is the fact that i can't stand wireless controllers for some odd reason.
