Portal: Still Alive remaining an Xbox 360 exclusive for now - Image 1

Want some more Portal loving on your PS3? Well, it seems that you won't have it. Valve has dismissed rumors of a PS3 version of Portal: Still Alive, at least for now.

Talking with gaming website CVG, a Valve spokesperson dispelled the rumor of a PS3 Still Alive. To quote CVG's report:

"I'd call that today's rumor," a Valve spokesperson told CVG when quizzed on the subject. Today's rumour, but tomorrow's news, we said. "You're smart to ask. But no," Valve told us.

At the same time, CVG's report did mention something interesting that hinted at the possibility of seeing Portal: Still Alive on other platforms. In the E3 edition of Official Xbox Magazine, Valve's Doug Lombardi remarked that the game was "exclusive to Xbox 360 in 2008." That said, 2009 may hold a different set of answers on the availability of Portal: Still Alive, but we'll have to wait for word on that when 2009 comes.

Why does Valve hate the PS3 so much? Rather Gabe Newell hates the PS3.

Team Ninja ported over Ninja Gaiden Sigma over to the PS3 and apparently

It wasn't that hard to develop for. Maybe a bit rough around the edges but still they did a damned fine job of the game.

Because he is a lazy d!ck. This is the reason that I bought the orange box used and will never contribute money to Valve.

I wonder if there's such a thing as taking them to court for hate crimes against a console ... LMAO.

F -- u -- c--- k - I hate Valve. Lazy fu**cktards who take 8 years to do a game and can't be bothered to learn how to program correctly enough to make a multiplatform game, instead they sit, whine and ***** about it while EA picks up the slack for their talentless asses.

I don't think Valve as a whole suck, just mainly Gabe. He hates the PS3 so much because he's an ex-Microsoft employee who is too lazy to learn how to develop for anything that's new (they didn't even port HL1 to the PS2, they had Gearbox do that!). Maybe if he spent less time eating Big Macs and more time working, it wouldn't be so hard.

And it's funny how all the other devs are catching on rather quickly. He must obviously see the mistake he's made but now it's too late because if he suddenly starts wanting to develop for it again after what he said, he'd loo like a huge douchebag.

And Portal Still Alive won't be much anyway. It's just Portal with a few extra challenges and stuff thrown in. Think of it as "Portal: The Standalone Deluxe Edition".

And by "Exclusive to Xbox 360 in 2008", they just mean they'll release it on PC through Stream and crap. They'd try to put it on The Wii before the PS3.

Yeah, I rember reading that article where he said PS3 was a mistake blah blah blah. I really hope he realizes what a huge M$ slut he is. As for the comment about this "Expansion" being developed for the Wii...That made my day haha. I'm sure he'll develop anything for the wii before he tries to even touch a PS3.

You sony boys need to calm down. Why was GTA an exclusive on ps2? Why is Rock Band 2 exclusive on 360? Ace Combat, BioShock, Unreal Turney 3, now Portal 2? Why is anything an exclusive anymore? MONEY!!!! I'm sure if Sony didn't lose so much money getting a Blu-Ray into everyones house while taking a hit, they'd pay for exclusives too. Just calm the **** down and wait your turn. At least you have the possibility of getting it to your system. Those poor Wii-Folk won't even get the pleasure of playing the first Portal. -V

# No GlaDos MEANSNevers 2008-08-01 06:50
NO BUY for me... I've heard it's just a version of the flash games already out and that GlaDos voice overs are not involved. If that's the case... EPIC FAIL and I will not buy because GlaDos is the only real reason I enjoyed PORTAL. Considering the title is STILL ALIVE I really don't understand the exclusion of GlaDos
