In case you haven't checked up on your PS3 yet, the newest firmware update, version 3.40, is actually now live and kicking. Including in this packet of surprise is none other than the much-publicized PlayStation Plus.




 

What's so good about the PlayStation Plus again? If you need reminding, it gets you a whopping 50% discount on PSN titles if you get the US$ 50 annual subscription fee. You'll also have early access to betas, one hour of demo time on select full titles, and many more.





 

If you're on the tighter end of the budget, however, there's still something for you here as you can use the five-star ratings for contents on the Store, video editor and uploader for both Facebook ad YouTube, as well as expanded integration into Picasa and FB photo galleries.

Well this Update also has to new settings... First -System settings- "i belive for PLUS members" -automatically Update-, Second -Accessory Settings- -calibrate motion controller-" this is for the MOVE but why in a update so early? maybe for display models?

The psp 6.30 is supposed to patch the Patapon 2 Exploit!!! :(

No longer have a ps3... looking @ those new XBOX360 Slim line... They are nice!

from one gamer to another, I would suggest buying an older 360 or waiting on the slim. There seems to be a lot of 360 slims failing already and scratching discs. I'd wait and see how it goes and see how MS responds.

thanks for the info... I planned on waiting to see how they hold up and after some reviews roll in. Obviously it's not doing so hot. Anyway... thanks again.

@Anyone with a psp(any model) it's confirmed that the new 6.30 update for it patches the exploit. If you want to continue using the Half Byte Loader, don't update!

Heh, PSN+ doesnt really give you anything cool. It says you get a 50% discount on games, but you've already paid that 50% when subscribing anyway. Every game needs a demo so you know exactly what you're buying. But I don't think digital copies are any good anyway. You can't sell them! :P

Also, why pay for the second option? Pay to give ratings and upload to facebook? pfft.

I just realized it says that you "Free games and add-ons are yours to keep and use the entire time you are a Playstation Plus subscriber." So I'm guessing this means if you decide to stop your subscription later you lose all those games you got for free, which kind of makes the whole thing less worthy if you ask me. Plus these discounts I'm seeing are for select games and definitely not 50% off.
