Midway's Mortal Kombat II coming this April 12 - Image 1

The release date of the supposed Mortal Kombat II on the PlayStation Network was given quite a babality and pushed back from March to this month. As it stands, the resurrected 1993 arcade classic from Midway Games is now slated for an April 12 roll out, still clocked at US$ 4.99 as previously planned.
  • All original MKII characters are back (I get dibs on Baraka!), plus the bosses and unlockable opponents
  • 10 different levels to choose from (The Pit, please!)
  • Online leaderboards for player ranking
We know some of you guys have been waiting for this. I for one have MKII notched at the top of my Mortal Kombat list. I'm not saying it was the best in all aspects, but for me, it had the most impact and the most memorable playing experience in the series. Any one want to challenge that? I just got one word for you: TOASTYYY!

Screenshots? Why the heck not?

I'm still buying this... online leader board! Sweet. But why not online play? That would rule! Unless I missed something and it is really there...

people are saying that there's going to be online play... i'm just an average Mortal Kombateer so I wouldn't even expect to make a scratch on the leader board but i could still teach some pips a thing or two... even my wife used to play this.

It has online play, along with leaderboards. While I wish this was super street fighter 2, mortal kombat will do. I just hope all future downloadble games will have online 2 player. I would buy every single one even if its crap.

This game is being sold as a downloadable game on the Playstation Network; all the games there (besides demos) cost money.

# Pointless Of Purchasing This Crap...Guest 2007-04-11 10:52
Why would you purchase this crap for $4.99? I can pirate this stupid game on a ROM for my SNES/Genesis emulator on my PC and for my PSP. It is pointless to buy this crap.
