PlayStation Home - Image 1Earlier, 14 new screenshots of PlayStation Home's closed beta were leaked to give us an eyeful of what's been added on version 0.8.6. Sadly, the source had to take down the images due to copyright issues, but that doesn't mean we can't describe what's in them to you.

According to the ScrawlFX post, the new area called the Media & Events Space is looking like a hub where PlayStation-related shindigs will take place. Could we all be getting treated to virtual game shows in the future? We'll see.

Home version 0.8.6 also had an elaborate survey on what the beta testers thought of the new space. Feedback was apparently needed about its presentation area, the photos and video on the gallery, and other stuff. The opinions of the testers were also asked regarding such things as what they want to see on the next PlayStation Day events, and what people would like to see more of in the Media & Events Space.

That's about all we have on the latest PlayStation Home update. Let's hope Sony releases it soon so we can all enjoy it. Keep it with us for more PS3 news.

does it have to be so far away... oh well, the later the better in some cases.

HOME is one thing that every one is exited about even if they say they arnt or dont even care... home is revolutionary,a nd it'll prove its worth wen the time comes for worldwide release.

» question?

its at 0.8.6. so can we assume it will be released at 1.0?

» mabye

1.0 or 10.0 the rate its goin....hopefully its worth the delays...unlike haze where it could of been a lot better

"the later the better in some cases."

Sadly, that isn't right. Look how often thy pushed back Haze. In the end, haze is just another mediocre shooter. I'm not saying Haze is bad, but it' not good either. just mediocre.

Umm... can I tell you something?

That update happend in April. It's not new.

This has nothing to do with an update.

For sharing that. Sorry we couldn't post them here.

» .

yea... the 0.8.6 update is quite an old one.

The only thing Sony did was add a new space in Home and nothing else(no update what-so-ever).

» Haze *****ing sucked

I said Haze would suck but all of you people bashed me because of Freeradical's great record.

On a note related to this topic: ***** Home. I waited for this ***** for waaaaaaaaaaaaaa ay too long to even be slightly interested at this point. We're sitting here patiently as Xbox Live grows every day.

I can't *****ing wait for MGS4.

by Glen D. - 2008-05-26 01:31
» yeah

so much depends on MGS4...

by RexNox - 2008-05-26 02:03
» agree haze just was....

another shooter. Like the world needs another. Most of the games this gen suck...with that said, the ones that were good, I actually cared to finish (minus Warhawk which is just everlasting awesomeness). I think MGS4 will be one of the ones I finish.

by damonous - 2008-05-26 03:08
» Wow

THe last images of Home that I saw were those stills that Sony released to magazines a year ago. It appears that they've been REALLY BUSY. Those virtual worlds look fantastic!

by platon - 2008-05-26 07:18
» what's the link with the topic?

The ps3 is not dependant of haze, lol, nor MGS4 at all. Haze looked horrible, yes, and MGS4 looks wonderfull (like all the other MGS games), so?. The ps3 is the ps3, and the games are the games. You want my guess? It's not MGS4 that will sell the ps3, it's gonna be FF13. Not really for US gamers, but this will make japanese guys go crazy and they'll all buy a ps3, then the japanese devs will turn back on their own crew since US dudes only buy big titles, they always forget all the JRPGs and the weird games, then the games will be on ps3 or ps3 and x360 instead of x360 or x360 and ps3. But anyway, the next console I'm buying is not the x360 but the wii, chipped.

» woo

I cant wait for Home :) but my NAT Type is at 3, so chances are I won't be able to play it anyways lol.

by Glen D. - 2008-05-26 13:18
» You're right

That this discussion is getting away from Home, so this will be the last of it from me.

Anyway, I think you're on to something about FF13, but I'd disagree on the previous points.

I think NGS4 is a big part of Sony's 2008 master plan coz it'll be that big bang that will get the whole show started. The MGS franchise moves consoles as proven by the PS1 and PS2, so this should give the PS3 a great momentum boost. After its launch, games like LBP will give a nice follow-up to maintain that momentum. If all goes well with Killzone 2, it should cap off fiscal 2008 in furious fashion.

If a nice fiscal 2008 expands the Sony install base in a big way, then FF13 should be even bigger by the time it hits coz there will be more people who can enjoy it instantly.

Then again, that's just my take on it.
