PlayStation Home to come out soon? |
Ó
We've heard about Warhawk's integration into PlayStation Home, and we're incredibly happy about the news. But there's a rumor that may make us even more giddy about Home. According to this juicy, supposedly insider, tidbit, we're going to get PlayStation Home "VERY VERY VERY soon".
According to a PlayStation forum member, he managed to get in touch with an insider, who "shared" his/her knowledge about the development of PS3 games, and the things that a game needs for it to get included in the PlayStation Home network. Check out this excerpt, and read it carefully:
A game must be able to integrate into Home, a game must support "Accomplishments". Right there, two important things, the PS3 system for achievements is called "Accomplishments", and Home is coming out VERY VERY VERY Soon.
So a PS3 game should support Accomplishments - which sounds awfully like Xbox 360's Achievements system - before it can be integrated into Home. It's pretty much plausible, and the idea of being able to share and brag about your hard earned Accomplishments fits Home's atmosphere.
Do take the above statement, which is filed under rumors for now, with a grain of salt. We sure do hope that Home is indeed coming soon, however. VERY VERY VERY soon.

As for Home getting boring, I dont think its meant to be a blast like a game (because its not a game). I'm pretty sure it'll be fun as long as you have friends though (or make some friends lol), cause then you'll have someone to chat with while you play pool, bowl, and try out those arcade games.
I tried Home once, but that was before they added Home square and all these updates. Cant wait to see how much its changed (which I'm sure will be a lot because when I tried it half the features werent working or werent even put in yet).

I agree with Eclipze_ on this one.

in the other hand the now named Accomplishments it will be awesome and for the people that said it doesn't matter that to reach point and all is useless... well.. you never played and 360 then... isn't to compete with other people... is to finish the game and explore all ways of the game without finishing it fast... add replay value and make more people to be online because will be Accomplishments to win 25 time in a streak many more things and the online will be better in the PSN...
But anyway I still think home will be at may or april even if it's ready...

Now the way Microsoft makes it let me think that they are doing it only to bind people to the game...
I hope Sony makes something better from the accomplishment idea.
Anyways, I hope this news is (partially) fake.
You want to know why?
Because in my opinion Sony shouldn't rush Home.
They should give us a damn HUGE advertising campaign so everybody notices Home and it's cool features. And they should make it the best way they can. And before the big release, they should make an open beta server so everybody can help improve Home before it comes out, so it will be as cool as everybody wishes it.
Hope you understand my opinion.

Apart from that, with all the little promotional stories that are flying around, we can safely assume that Home is in its promo period...which would be no more than 8 weeks (I think this is the 2nd or 3rd week). If it doesn't release by March 30th, either Playstation's financials are still hurting or Home still has marketing problems (which means Sony has no control over its release).

Showing off accomplishments has been in the plans for HOME since the first public announcements. It shouldn't be a surprise, but rather nice to see that feature didn't get removed for technical/logistical reasons.

One thing that I hate is everyone wants what the 360 has only because they want everything from it (plus some), Like this gamer card thing.. I could care less if we have gamer cards I just want good features like Home is going to offer.

Very (?) - A word with no meaning.
Soon (adv) - A time that never comes.
Home (n) - A registered trademark of SCEI that will never be anything more then a trademark.

But i can't wait for Home, for all the people claiming this to a carbon copy of Achievements and Live you people must not really know anything.
First of all a copy is something that as the same exact functions and Name, this has its own functions and name.
I think this is good for gaming, a little battle in the gaming world is awesome, since gamers will get the best stuff and the companies work extremely hard to match or to do better than there opponent.
For example its just like GTA and Saints Row, While SR did have very similar things to GTA, it did bring new things into the table and even done things better than GTA has done. That alone makes it the only sandbox title to ever match and give GTA a run for it money. It also makes Rockstar try very hard to out do SR,and GTA4 will make Volitions try very hard to match and out do GTA4, and thus making gamers happy that such titles are that good. Hell This could start a chain reaction and some day make Sandbox as a new Game genre.
Home is nothing but great and will help competition and we gamers will be benefit from it all. Stop complaining.
