QJ readers Dan, Carton, and Jeff bring word that PlayStation Underground has sent out invites for the Beta test for the much hyped PlayStation Home. If you did get the invite then you should be given a link that leads to a sign up page to be selected for the PlayStation Home Beta Trial.Reports have said that if you didn't get an invite it is likely because you didn't register your Sony PlayStation. If you want to register you Sony Product, this link might be useful: http://www.us.playstation.com/Registration/Product.
We do, however, have to note that the details on the specific criteria for giving out invites is still unclear. PS3Mods notes that rumor is that only 15,000 users will be selected for the trial.
The image in the upper right is a glimpse of what the page that the invite leads to look like. If you're curious about it and you wish to observe more, the "read" link below should bring you to a sign up page for the Home Beta Test. As the commenters have noted it is unlikely you will find it useful. Anyhow, the link to the sign-up was had via PS3 mods, which in turn found on the official PlayStation 3 forums.
Not really useful, but still good for a preview, and still worth the ogle, especially if you're touchy about trial agreements.

yea...shouldn't have posted the poor guys link to sign up. the URL is for him specifically, hench the PSU number. everyone who signs up is apparently overwriting the person who signed up before them. (or it may appear as a ton of signups under the same PSU account.)
anyway, remove the link, asap.
So only americans and canadians get to beta test :s. I thought they were gonna need people from around the world to really figure out if everything works like it should be. But as usual Europe gets left out it seems...

I agree, you should take it off,ive seen the thing change multiple times, each beta link is its own invite, and thats for giving me credit QJ when i sent u the news about this yesterday!, (NOT!!), but ehhh i have my invite....

..I got the invite but I am stuck at work all day. My employer has the Playstation site blocked so I can't actually sign up until I get home tonight.
I may swing by an internet access point at lunch and give the old PSP browser a try.
I got mine but have not regiserd my ps3. I signed up right after my email notifier went off.
Checked my email to notice mine has arrived! Here's hoping, not everyone that gets this email will get in though!

That is linked to your PSU number so the people that signed up after this link was posted all signed up on this guys PSU number. That will probably be flagged and not let into the beta.
Why should US and Canada be the only ones that get this beta when HOME is being made in the UK??????
thats wot i mean its produced by sony europe so y do u.s and canadian ppl get to test it useless
beta is hosted by SCEE, so I'm sure they'll include their own region
yea i find that interesting too. looks like sony has a favorite. i live in the US, so the only thing i'm complaining about is being a GAP member for 4 years and not get invited.
who shared that information has just lost it's chance to be in the HOME BETA.

i just registered my PS3 on the PS Underground about 2 weeks ago out of the blue for no reason, just to do it
no invite for me... oh well
i think imma put my ps3 back in the box and put it in the closet or somthing untill fall when things R spose to be heating up lol...nawww jk i love my ps3

if you're a member of the PS underground, you occasionally receive notices for surveys and such. if you have one of these surveys stored in your email inbox, you can use a workaround so that you aren't registering using a psu ID that's been used before. use the following method:
1) copy the link location from the read link in this article, open a new tab or window and paste it into the address bar, but DON'T load the page yet
2) in another window/tab, open your email, find one of the PSU surveys and copy the link from the "Take Survey" button. Paste this link into notepad, and copy the number after the "psu="; shown below is the exact location of the number you need to copy, shown in all X's. do NOT copy the &DCMP part.

3) after you've copied that number, just replace the old number from the read link with yours, and hit enter. then, viola!

i have a 60 gig ps3 and am signed up to the ps underground. also i registeed my ps3, and live in canada. but that is not really the point. i want to know how some1 who got it, got it
