Just as scheduled, the UK servers for PlayStation Home went down for a bit. Hope you got some fresh air and interacted with some real people during the downtime, but now, the servers are back online.

Time to ooze your way back into your cave now, we've got Home beta marathons again! (It might help to pull an epic dance off every once in a while too.)

Not only that, but the v1.02 patch is now also available. There isn't really anything big about the patch. Home community manager TedTheDog of the PS EU forums says that this patch is more for the server-side of things. See, this patch will make your version of Home compatible to whatever tweaks and fixes they made to the server during the downtime.

Thanks to marcosatti1 for the heads up!

This is never going to get released.

If it does, it'll be a massive letdown - I place my LIFE on it.

» Not just that!

You can not get new clothes! Unless that was added on the last update. I have a new home and new threads! :)

» Umm...

"See, this patch will make you Home compatible to whatever tweaks and fixes they made to the server during the downtime."

Either a major grammatical/spelling error, or just doesn't make any sense.

» Well..

The whole thing is wrong, Home was down for a few hours, when it came back there were new items to buy, all compatible from the get go. I'm only just downloading the patch now, and i already bought all the new stuff yesterday.

» Well...

maybe not wrong, just not correct shouldn't have used the word "wrong". My Home worked fine without the patch anyway, others may have had varied results, my apologies.

» People have to realise that...

HOME is not for the hardcore/average gamer. If you are the type of person that can sit down for hours playing an RPG or a FPS then most likely, you will be disappointed in HOME. Thats not to say you won't like it, but you will get bored with it quickly. It depends on what type of person you are.

HOME (from what I've used of it) is targeted towards the more social type of person. I.e: The type of people that use services like MySpace and MSN often.

Just keep that in mind when using HOME, after the Open Beta arrives - before you think of flaming it ;)

And also remember that it will still be a BETA. Meaning that many features are still going to be added and improved as time progresses. So while you may not like it originally, there should be something that interests you that is implemented

» ah...

I accidentally hit submit before I'd finished. That last sentence should read:

"So while you may not like it originally, there should be something that interests you that is implemented at a later stage. The developers are really pushing HOME to be a place that has something that everyone can enjoy."

Did you get the summer house? Too bad there are no appliances for sale. I could really use a nice TV to put above the fireplace ;)

I disagree Valix, I play rpgs for hours and I love home. I can just sit on a bench and find myself in some of the weird conversations that go on there. I'm also a part of 3 clubs now as well. You're right it's all about socializing but that doesn't mean hardcore gamers don't like to socialize.

Sorry, I was generalizing. It just from what I've gathered and all the comments I've read about HOME, that this seems to be the case. I probably should have worded my other comment a bit more carefully though.
