Slowly but surely, the PlayStation Home beta is inching closer and closer to your consoles. A forum post from TedTheDog shown in the image above suggests that the v0.96 update is closing in for closed beta testers.

The said update will be received by beta testers through a code sent to their email accounts on Thursday, July 31. The code can then be used via the XMB's Account Manager. Simply put, this one won't use the typical patch mechanic to update the Home beta.

A post from PS3 News suggests that this will make Home part of the XMB and not just an item under the GAME menu. Little else has been spoken of in terms of in-world changes. We'll give you an update as soon as we can.

music?

you can't even listen to music and send a message at the same time! It'll be a while until we can play a game and listen to it.

What are you talking about?? I can listen to music WHILE on my internet browser AND send a message at the same time.. The feature is very easily possible if the developer actually puts it into their games. Pixel junk monsters encore has have in-game Music. All games need right now are patches to make in-game music possible, but the developers I guess don't want to do it..

They have

hyped this up so much I don't even care anymore. Im sure it will be buggy as hell when they do release it just like gta4. I hope it is cool and all just not excited for it anymore. If I want to have fun with my ps3 I pop a game in and play it. just play second life if you can't wait for home its the same thing. A virtual world for virtual losers. Go bowling for real, play bball for real, talk to people for real.

In-Game Music?

Super Stardusk HD has in-game music, I didn't know Pixel Monster Encore has in-game, I will try that one today when I get home.

Harsh

Considering I have friends in New York and I'm in Florida it would be kinda hard to go bowling with them wouldn't it? What your saying is pretty stupid in my opinion.. Its like me telling you "Why are you posting on this website? Why don't you just walk up to everyone and tell them what you have to say". The internet keeps us connected which helps if you have friends that are long distances. Home isn't a virtual life. Home is more like a place to chill out when you don't feel like playing a game. Instead of going into a chat room you can talk with your friends while playing mini games. Clan rooms can be made to plan out what your about to do in battle. Like with LBP you can have fun just customizing your home. If you think anyone is going to "live" in Home then your pretty stupid. Home is a little more then what your thinking it is.

well

Either it has it now or its going to get it in a patch. I know when they were showing off the 2.40 videos on the PSblog Encore had in-game music.

Not Yet?

Tried to use in-game music on pixel monsters encore and it wouldn't work, guess we still have to wait.
