PlayStation Generation may never climb tree, controller's fault |
Ó
MCV UK reports that in the Daily Mail, a newspaper, quoted MD Alan Stock as saying: "At least climbing trees gives kids an appreciation of our surroundings. But playing computer games doesn't really teach us anything. It's easy to end up sitting indoors for hours on end." This quote of course, showed up in a Daily Mail report that says that based on figures collected from UK hospitals, Repetitive Strain Injury has increased by 35 percent among children since 1999.The newspaper then says that the increase in RSI may be the PlayStation's fault. The report even bears the headline: "PlayStation generation that will never climb a tree."
Figures have shown that the number of children treated for falling out of trees dropped by 36 percent between 1999 and 2006. Hence the depression of the good doctor, MD Alan Stock.
So go prove them cheeky Brits wrong kiddies. Go outside and go climb a tree. Once you're dirty from the moss on the bark, once you've broken your leg from falling or something, and once you're home-bound due to the injured limb, go back to playing God of War 2. Yes, that.
Great, what else are folks going to blame on videogames?
Oh oh, bonus points for Sony fans, they said "PlayStation Generation" a-hyuk.

Let the heroes climb the virtual tree. Naked Snake Link I forget what game you can climb trees on the Xbox.
I know this is about kids spending more time playing videogames then outside but shouldn't that drop in percentage be a good thing?
this is just another case of old ppl b*tching about not geting what they want. it always is like this if they dont develope a certain disease... anyway enough of my insults, now to more truthful comments, older people (between the ages of 40-80) have possiably broken their leg as a child from falling out of the tree, thus they were in pain at the time and feel that since it happened to them, it should happen to all, this is of course the main problem of older ppl (and most of the world)...not being able to forget or forgive bad memorys, thus they force it on younger generations for their self pleasure...ya certain older things should never be changed (most things from the holy bible), but in the usa, it has become corrupt...too much freedoms taken away (some for the better good of ppl), thinking about the $$$ more than ppls lifes, and reasons to simpley say "the old way works fine". i am 16, live in the USA, and hope that america will learn whats truly needed besides oil and money.
lets see...i played every playstation and i can easily climb a tree. seriously the people who thought up of this are on coke or something.
I think the generation of fat lazy slobs that can't climb trees because of videogames should be called the XBOX generation :) Most people that are smart enough to play playstation instead of the xbox actually do other things as well, so they can still climb trees. There's a study / survey I want to see... Average weight / health of ps3 vs xbox 360 users :)
I climbed trees when a i had a playstation!!! (and when i had SNES). Maybe kids are less stupid now and just dont fall out as much......naaa theyre just fat and lazy
look at the facts we a playstation generation thats how non gamers look at us not the xbox generation not the wii generation the playstation generation!
