PlayStation Eye trailer video |
Ó
In this trailer video, we see the PlayStation Eye being extensively used in three very cool-looking titles - namely Operation: Creature Feature, The Trials of Topoq, and Aqua Vita.
The gameplay mechanics are pretty much the same with the EyeToy - your likeness and movements are key to progressing in the game, as you "interact" with the game's elements via the PlayStation Eye - while sporting some pretty awesome visuals. The Trials of Topoq puts a neat spin to it, with the little quirk that it uses your body movement to raise and lower tiles to tilt a ball through some pretty complicated mazes.
Sony's certainly upping the ante with the PlayStation Eye, and we can't help but be impressed. Check it out and see if you would be, too.

looks cool, FIRST
I like the interactive aquarium thing, could be cool to look at, but the games are nothing that will make ppl go crazy over.....except little kids..little kids can get attached to this stuff for a while...but pretty cool recognition camera...would be nice to use in some ways w/ MGS4 or something like that.
neato...it looks a lot better than the Eye-Toy was. I wonder how they're going to incorporate it in other games...
It'll be cool to see what else they come up with. Plus being able to video chat with it will be a welcome bonus. I'll be picking up Eye of Judgment along with the new Playstation Eye as soon as it's available for $59.99 if the rumors are true. This is going to be great.
The Trials of Topoq is aweasome !! aqua Thing looks cool for a screensaver for ur LCD TV !
that trials of topoq looks awesome... hopefully this camera doesn't have as many glitches as the eyetoy did. wait a minute... i wonder if i'll be able to use this with my PS2 eyetoy games... maybe then i could actually play antigrav all the way through... sweet.
Eyetoy Wow kz2 . Gow3. Mgs4 .ff13 and the list goes on and on i admit as an xbot the ps3 will kick ass in 2k8 but with all these graphics and good features its only coming out later in 2k8 not now anyways my 360 got red light about 2min ago and my steering wheel just got busted about iam glad the eye cam aint coming to 360 bcuz microsoft will make a half a.ss product anyways in 2k8 iam converting to a ps3 fanboy
I was thinking the same thing.
is the camera wifi?
it bothers me that they have lionfish and cardinal tetras in the same tank.... since lionfish are sal*****er fish and cardinal tetras are fresh, but the other two games look good, and I like the idea of aqua vita...
they put a salt water lionfish in the same tank as a fresh water cardinal tetras in this ps3 video game??! IDIOTS!
seriously tho the camera looks badass its been a long time since ive gotten to put my balls in a fish tank
If a lot of the games for the Eye are downloaded over the PSN for just a few bucks that'd be great. All I can say is atleast the Eye will be used for more than just people to play dirty UNO like the Vision. I mean the Vision doesn't even let you play with the little move the ball around thing they have on demo units at retailers.
but in fact i think i will stay with my gameboy camera
but frightingly difficult
Meh looks cool bc it looks cool, but im sure that it wont sell. Its kinda dorky. "Hey look at me... im watching an aquarium... and taping the water... look at those ripples, so much fun!" blah
lol why did they cencor salt water???
Great screen saver with interactivity? Check.
Fun interaction? Check.
Video chat? Check.
Exterminating the Xbox's Vision Cam? Check-mate.
Can't wait to get my hands on this!!!
to figure out why they censored salt water. put them together... salT WATer...hahahaha
You need only to look at the speed at which the Wii overtook Xbox 360 to see that casual gaming drives large number of people to get involved, especially when it looks like fun and is perceived as relatively "easy."
Younger kids (and, ahem, non-Americans) just don't want war, war, war all the time. I'm sick to death of me-too shooters, so I welcome this, and anything else that's engagingly different.
omg thgis looks awful
Seems to do the same thing to me.
Sony make out that this cam. will be better than the wiimote, but Im not interested with the mini games in the vid. they will get boring, fast.
Hey Sony, I want proper games: baseball, golf and bowling. Make it now, just like they got on the Wii.
Want I think would be great for a golf game from Sony would be, if you got a big room you could put the webcam behind you, the webcam would register your swing and you can you can see yourself ingame as you make the swing.
Shooters have alway been around, they're just recently coming more on consoles, since they've finally caught up to the specs good FPS games need...very few next gen titles are shooters compared to how many have always been on PC.
They should make games like these for the PSP - one-handed voice games...
especially in MGO2
