Stevensons' post showed off the Co-op medic and Spec Ops. Details about what both classes can do haven't been revealed yet, but we can expect the medic to probably handle all the healing needs of a team while the Spec Ops will probably fill the role of the team's sniper.

This isn't new and these are classes for the co-op portion of the game.
Insomniac community manager James Stevenson only just released this information. Additionally, the article does in fact state these pieces of artwork are from the Co-Op portion of the game ;) R2 looks like it's shaping up to be something special.
That's what happens when I look at articles while I'm drunk.
