PS3 & remote

At Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) Japan 2006, the largest international exhibition in Asia, Sony showed off the PlayStation 3 remote control. It's not something that would generate oohs and aahs upon first look, after all, it's just what it is, a remote control. It does look similar to the PS2 remote and it has pretty much the same features. But of course, this one is used to operate the Blu-ray.

We wonder if Sony has improved and made new additions on this PlayStation 3 remote. It kinda looks the same but we are holding our judgment until official details are released. Anyway, if new details about the remote comes out, count on us to update you right away. In the meantime, click on the image for a bigger view.

» Also Memory Card USB addon

I saw this reported on Engadget also. When following a link to watch.impress.co.jp, you can also see what looks like a USB addon for the "old" memorycards: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/docs/20061003/sce.htm

looks good, nice and sleek, well layed out, just like all of sonys controllers (TV, A/V, DVD, etc), they all have the same basic style making controllign very easy.

I think Sony has that covered. They probebly have is setup so that you can just press the home button to power up the PS3 then when you want to shut down it is probably menu based. (i.e. you can choose standby or complete shutdown)
