PlayStation 3 holiday ad campaign for Europe |
According to Sony Computer Entertainment UK Marketing Director, Alan Duncan, the ad "represents a spectacular, whirlwind celebration of the different entertainment experiences that the PS3 has to offer."
The ad below is called "The Entertainers" and Sony describes it this way:
The ad takes place in a theatre style scene with a host of flamboyant characters; [...] as a reference to how PS3’s high definition and Blu-ray disc capabilities make everything – from games and movies to photos – look and sound more beautiful and detailed than ever before.
A funny acrobatic couple perform amazing seamless movements without wires, just like the PS3Â’s Sixaxis wireless motion-sensitive controller, which understands and translates body movements
PS3Â’s constantly updated technology is brought to life through a robot that seamlessly turns into a human to illustrate how the console is a future proofed product, able to update and evolve over time, with software and product innovations to meet the changing entertainment demands of consumers.
Perhaps this move that focuses more on the hi-def capabilities of the console are evidence of Sony's decision to market the Blu-ray as well as gaming. Here's their holiday ad, "The Entertainers.

I am Soooo Confused right now
At least here in the Netherlands, it's been on here for at least 2 months.
Compared to the mind blowing US PS3´s Ads, this are bull*****. Sorry, they are, I dont think with this Kind of Ad you can atrac any People to buy ps3.
Might i ask which channel ? I've never seen this ad before on Dutch television.
It's nice to know Sony's European marketing department has got a much of an idea on how to advertise the PS3 as the people responsible for the European PSN have about adding content to that. For *****s sake, why when Sony's Bravia & Walkman ads are so good are the PS3 (And the PSP dustballs for that matter) so atrocious? Stupid effing Poodle dog things and circus shìte, I'm insulted.
Why do the EU ads, have to be artistic.. it's utter sh*t it's like they think everyone in EU is an artf*g.. Most people won't even get the ad for f*ck sake.
The bullet part was the best, but overall it's a weird commercial. The US ones kick absolute ass, and get their points across much easier than these.
