So you have your 1080p Lair, Virtua Tennis, Gran Turismo HD, and Ridge Racer. But even though these are without a doubt great games, that list for 1080p titles is still short, don't you think? And what else would make your HDTV go haywire with joy but more 1080p games?!
Thankfully, Koei is aware of this obvious lack in 1080p titles as they're coming out with one more to add to your list. Yes, you will get to play Mahjong Taikai IV in full HD! See Koei has started their print marketing for the game, and in addition to the game's nationwide online play, variety of characters, full voice, and varied difficulty levels, the print ads highlight and emphasize that the game will support 1080p.
Now, unless Konami's PS3 launch title, Mahjong Fight Club, will also support 1080p, looks like Mahjong Taikai IV will be the obvious choice for HDTV-owning would-be PS3 users. Sadly though, Mahjong Taikai IV won't be released in the U.S., but you can always have it imported, yes? Mahjong Taikai IV will hit Japanese shelves on November 22nd.

I don't think it's the solitaire version, but the 4 player version which is more like a gambling game with tiles, a little like poker.
too bad the picture doesn't look high rez/HD at all...
in the article it says "nationwide online play", then "won't be released in the U.S.", and finally "but you can always have it imported". a question, if it's only nationwide online play (which implys restricted to japan) what the hell good is it to import then to the usa? if the online will be restricted solely to japan or asian continent save your dollars on this one folks. 1080p ain't that great to piss away money on mahjong.

I mean, it's not like people play mahjong right? I mean, buy a great tactic game or wargame but NO MAHJONG PLEASE! this is sooo for the old nobodies... ps: monopoly, mahjong, or any other game like that in HD or not NOBODY CARE! it won't make a damn difference!! heavenly sword in HD, now that's a difference, same for MGS4, FFXIII, shirokishi, assassin's creed, L.A. Noire, GTA4, etc... but mahjong... so lame... the only time I played this was on a school PC to loose for time like 5-6 years ago...
What? So you represent everyone now senjutsu?? If the games did not sell, they would not make so many Mahjong games. I myself like mahjong as well, but never really had played it on a console. My mom loves it, played it on PC too, so this should be great. What difference does this has with Konami's game? Anyway, this is a great game for adults to play with when they have free time and just want to relax.
It's just like poker games, why do people play poker games since it's so old. Mostly the same reason play mahjong.
Dude, don't hate... This is the best of PS3's ability. It's true that PS3 will have bad graphics, but hey, it has a cell processor!! So what if it's architecture makes the cell processor function like an Intel Pentium 1... its soo coool!!!!!

Resistance has been mentioned as 1080P but it hasn't been confirmed. That's a lot of 1080P titles if you ask me consider developers (only MS devs actually) were saying 1080P was impossible but later changed their tuned and said It was nearly impossible. I guess now they they have to accept it 1080P is here to stay.
what if i don't want to play mahjong in full HD?
