PixelJunk Monsters to go live next week; info, screenshots, video released |
Ó
From the PlayStation blog, we were able to get more details regarding the upcoming game from the Q-Games President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert. In his entry, he discussed briefly the mechanics of the game itself.
In PixelJunk Monsters, you have to go through 20 stages divided into areas of varying difficulty. The objective, needless to say, is to save the lives of the little villagers from the waves of monsters bent on destruction.
To effectively dispose of your enemies, you get to use six types of towers namely Ice tower, Fire tower, Tesla tower, Laser tower, Hive tower, and Mortar tower. Items such as rainbows, coins, gems can be acquired by saving all the villagers and killing the monsters.
The above mentioned coins, furthermore, can be used to upgrade your towers up to four times. Note as well that the said kind of towers are not readily available at the beginning. You will be needing the gems dropped by monsters to research them first.
"WeÂ’ve put a lot of effort into the design and balance of the various stages and each one requires you to try out different strategies and combinations of towers, and this is where the game is thoroughly addicting," added Cuthbert.
With only a few days until the game's release, take time in viewing the screenshots of the towers and the gameplay video so you guys can have an idea what to expect from it. If you want to check the full blog entry, head on over to the source link below.
