PS3 and Wii Kiosks?

These pictures of the alleged PS3 and Wii kiosks emerged from the Nintendo Forums, the birthplace of most Ninty rumors. The person who posted this one could not elaborate on where they came from, who took it and when, all he could say was "they're real" and "I didn't make 'em" over and over again.

But still, these pics are somewhat nice to look at and they exude a certain aura of mystery and intrigue. Just put in mind that these are not confirmed as true, so now, everything is open for speculations. How about you, what do you think of these images? Do you think they are real or fake? Do you want them to be the real thing? Don't hesitate to hook us up with your comments.

» Not nice kiosks (especially PS3)

I don't want to play on them, because i'll get a stiff neck, especially while playing PS3.

I'll buy the Wii on release date so I don't have to worry about playing on these things ;)

» Yeah

They look pretty good, but I doubt they will be that.

» They both look kind of neat.

I hope the panel behind the PS3 can be swapped out based on the game they are showcasing though. Is the picture above the Wii's screen going to be used to show how to use the controller based on the game that's being demoed?

The monitors are the size they are because they are demo kiosks, not exhibition centers. They have to fit into a (typically small) game store and allow people to play a bit to get a feel for the system or a game. They are not meant to showcase a big 62" picture. Demo units tend to use smaller screens to draw attention away from the pixelation that larger screens exhibit.

The PS3's screen does look a bit high, but the Wii's looks to be even a bit lower than the ones on XBox 360 Kiosks. I think we'll be fine with the Wii's at that height, but I do see that the PS3's could cause some neck strain.

Whether these are real or not, it reminds me of a question I keep having: Why is it that Sony insists on using the Spider-man font for their PS3 logo?

» because

they can, its as simple as that. (why did nintendo name the revolution "wii")

» If they're fakes...

Good *****ing job!

I'd play on those things, but only for about 5 mins or so on the PS3 one, only because of the stain on the neck. Nintendo HAS to keep the screen low because of the sensor. I don't want to be pointing that thing way high up at the screen. Plus, there's not a lot of space up there in these Wal-Mart aisles.

» Pie is good!

They both look fine, except the screen is way to high up, and there IS NO PROOF that the nunchuck wouldn't be attached, and they were at E3, so I therefor call you a retard.

» LOL at "jdilla" (#10)

Yeah, hopefully people won't be cutting off the damn Wiimotes on the demo stations...Anyway, the pictures look real to me. Not exactly sure how someone would get their hands on these pictures, but they look real enough, espcially the Wii having the tv lower than normal because of the sensor bar.

pretty good work, but still (in the eyes of a PhotoShop vet), very fake.

BTW, why would Sony & Nintendo send out/leak these pics at the same time, to the same person, and why is it one pic instead of two seperate ones?

these aren't leaked.. the 'informant' works for a video game store. . . i've seen these pics myself at one.

» #12....

obviously it wasnt sony or nintendo that leaked these personally. some guy who works at a gamestore or something probably took pictures of both kiosks. i work at a game store, and we are going to receive both kiosks at the same time in the near future, so i wouldnt be suprised that someone had access to both. whoever took the pic obviously cut the picture to make it smaller?

now im not saying these are real, they could be fake. but who cares? its a freakin demo kiosk. its a case, a tv, and the system. doesnt have to be a masterpiece. they both look fine.
