Photo-realism vs Hollywood: more MotorStorm Behind the Scenes |
Ó
Following through from the previous Behind the Scenes coverage (consisting of Parts 1 and 2) comes this next one where Evolution Studios creative lead Paul Hollywood proudly claims how they were able to develop the game into looking "More real than real life." He goes on with saying that the special effects you'd be seeing aren't what you're used to in movies. He's talking about real time high definition.
The CEO of Evolution Studios, Martin Kenwright, also has a bit to say about the photo-realism process that they had to go through in development. Atmospheric effects, lighting, the whole who-haa of different textures found on every single detail on the terrain; they had to use special technology - both hardware and software - for that.
This is the type of Behind the Scenes video that makes you feel as if the demo that you're playing would look like dirt compared to the actual game that will be released in March (6th in North America, 23rd in Europe). Sigh... Just a few more weeks of waiting.

1st BWAHAHAHAHHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHA
this game is the most beautiful game ive ever seen or played in my entire life. great stuff
ppl are seriously hyping this game too much. resistance is and will be the best game for the ps3 imo for a while.
when you get down to it, this is just need for speed with offroad vehicles. it will suffer the same problems - low replay value.
Low replay value games are wii games, because are a bunch of minigames with nothing more. Here you got a racing off-road game, that when you finish the single player mode, you can still get online and play with a lot of people without additional costs. Think before writing a stupid comment.
Well I remain cautious about this games replay value because there is no feedback or rumble and I would say this type of game and fighting games are going to be lacking without it.
Sony Reps say its good ! and the game dev says its good ! hmmmm and I always thought Very good games sell themselves they dont need hype.....
It looks good but..
"this game is the most beautiful game ive ever seen or played in my entire life."
You must be very young or haven't played many games then. ;)
This game absolutely re playable as any typical racer. If you have fun with it you can race any track as many times as you wish, both against the AI or online. I hope you are not looking for any kind of story o something, Im sure if is there one it will be only to provide a excuse for racing
When playing (and having a lot of fun with) Burnout, I always turn off rumble, I dont need it at all and additionally rumble is a very power consuming feature in a wireless controller. Maybe other people think they are lacking something but that is not my case.
rumble sucked anyway, its the past.,... tilt controller is the future, being able to pull the dirt bike up(wheelies) by just pulling the controller up rocks
If this is the best they can do then i do not see any need for ps3. maybe if sony spent more time on games and less time ramming useless formats down our throats they would ave some good games.,.it may also be worth noting that ps3 fans were ps2 fans and as the ps2 was easily the worst graphics wise of the last generation this game may seem more impressive to sony loyalists/ass kissers.
We're not talking about costs here, nor cracking on the wii. We're talking about replay value. I compared MotorStorm to the Need for Speed series because of the fact that you can play online with the latest bunch of them. But like I also said, this is my opinion, and I feel that racing around tracks against online opponents will get old very fast.
Oh come on that is just plain silly, you say rumble and feedback sucked and the future is just pulling up the controller ? yer like that bit is any different to analogue, stop trying to justify a mistake, I have a PS3 and nothing will replace the feel of impacts etc.
only be 7 tracks in this game, which i think is a little low. im still getting the game cause i love racing games and online would rock cause i never had online on my ps2 and now that i got a wireless ps3 it rocks..
