A lot of us were surprised by the seemingly abrupt decision by Phil Harrison to leave Sony earlier this year. The company's former president of worldwide studios said he wanted to move on and join Infogrames because of "exciting new projects", but many doubted that what he said was the full story.Now, a rumor from Videogaming247 suggests that the real reason involves a matter of top secrecy. The site reported that, according to a source, the issue had a lot to do with the development of a new Sony console.
“He could see he was about to get involved in another PlayStation cycle, and obviously wanted something new,” the source supposedly said. “The same thing was happening again and he’d been through it enough times to want to move on.”
That's about all of it from them. It doesn't really explain why Phil would hate to be involved with a new console, so take this one with a grain of salt. Perhaps a spoonful, actually.

actually i just did a google search, and it turns out they made oddworld abe's oddysee and the sequels, and also had something to do with rollercoaster tycoon, they are 2 of my favourite games so i hope its something as amazing as them.

That's what I thought...
Maybe that type of project take a major chunk of time from someone's calendar of life? Maybe he promised his family he would start to back off a little?
Who knows, think about it for a while and tons of scenarios pop into mind.

I think that was them, the first one was anyway (years ago). No now I think about it wasn't it Activision who did Alone in the Dark 4.

2. His family is asking for more time off for him.

He was president, not the owner. There are plenty of people inside Sony that can fire it's president.
We Americans can also fire our President. Go check out "impeachment".
