Petition to Ubisoft and Free Radical: Make HAZE a PS3 exclusive |
Listed in: PS3 Tags: Free Radical, Ubisoft
Ó
It looks like someone has started a petition to turn Free Radical and Ubisoft's Haze into a PlayStation 3 exclusive. As of this article's writing, only 5 people have signed the petition and the chances of this petition picking up doesn't look to be too good.
Now, the reasons for his request for exclusivity seem a bit weak. He cites that it has to be an exclusive if it is to become a Halo 3 killer. Additional reasons that he points to are Blu-Ray, which holds 50GB of data, and the PS3's processing power. He's afraid that it might be dumbed down due to the 10GB constraints of the Xbox 360 and PC.
Well, you can get to the petition via our read link below. Check it out, give it a once over, and sign it if you believe that Haze should be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Personally, this blogger believes that Ubisoft and Free Radical have the skills to successfully release this game over three platforms and still provide a good gaming experience for all those who would pick it up.

Because he knows that Halo 3 sucks so bad...so if Haze goes to the 360, it will just kill Halo 3.
Hes trying to save your Halo 2.5...err 3.

Now is it just me, or does it sound like Enrico S. doesn't realize that PCs don't run their games from the CD/DVD?
Reply
Especially if 360 fanboys cared enough they could start their own petition and get at least twice as many signatures.....then PC people could do their petition and get 5 times as many signatures...
Sorry...you wasted your time people...

The only reason why anyone would truly want this would be because of fanboy bragging rights.

I just don't understand how people can hate different consoles. Games?...sure. Publishers?....*cough* ubisoft and EA *cough* sure. Consoles? No, each one is unique and has advantages and disadvantages. People need to give the PS3 a break though. For having a first generation of games, they look pretty close to the 2nd gen games for the 360 (my inner fanboy seeps out). Wow, I got on a little tangent. lol. peace

Honestly i dont understand what QJ posted this for. Its quite obviously just here to spawn *another* flame war where xbox owners come to affirm in their minds that their investment is best, and where ps3 owners come to affirm that their investment is best.
Umm...well i mean to say that yer i think your right +p

Even if by some miracle they DID make it a PS3 exclusive, who would care? Most people have no idea what Haze is, and Im personally not all that interested myself. Why dont you guys ask for exclusitivity to Open Season while youre at it?

also this could be the end of me visiting QJ, I started reading when it was PSP-Updates and before there was the other sections. I really really hate stupid bias sites and this seems to be going that way.

MS and Ubisoft are buddies they work well together.
The 360 has made Ubisoft a huge amount of money they will never move away from it to a machine that has hardly enough units to justify making it elusive and as PS3 owners always say they dont want FPS games anyway I doubt for one minute its will go anywhere but the 360.

UBi Soft are a generic multiplatform maker... They not
know how to make a exclusive, and optimized game
for only one platform... forget...
They are a generic softwarehouse, like EA.

This petition is a stupid idea! If the game is being produced for the PS3 first then it will play as good as an exclusive. Why does it need to be exclusive? If a game studio can make a game that sells boatloads of copies on multiple systems isn't that good for the developer and us as consumers? Wouldn't that give them more working capital to make better games in the future?
I think we all need to take a step back and let this all play out before we make stupid assumptions and jealous ploys for exclusivity. The gaming community is big enough for all of us!

Do you realize how stupid it sounds to say that they can make it work on multiple platforms with different architectures, yet they can't optimize it for one console. Once they are done with one console they have to finish by porting it to another, then optimizing it for the second console. Two consoles is more work than one.
Think before you speak next time!

My petition is never consider these games for my Wii!
Halo 3 is for Newbies.
Haze is for “ps1 owners” who never admitted 007-goldeneye a good game!
If you need fun buy a Nintendo console the rest is rest!
Metroid is all! And for Shooting multiplayer, Counter-Strike is the unique to consider!

Is it actually harder to type in L33Tbonics?

Ubisoft are not doing this! This game is being developed by Free Radical, who like last gen, are leading on Sony's console. It's not an example of what Ubisoft are doing in general with their games (who are only publishing Haze btw).

Blue Dragon on the 360 comes on 3 DVDs. So what's the problem? ;)

No-one is forced to by an HD-DVD add-on, so that's not part of the price for MOST gamers.
Yes the SP3 can be considered better value for money IF that's what you wanted to begin with, but as GAMES machines only, the 360 is cheaper, as GAMES machines AND HD media players, the PS3 is cheaper.
Can we move on now.

Maybe I will be objective; if the game would be better if it was ps3 exclusive, I still dont think that would justify leaving 360 owners in the dark. the profits would be greater of course for the company. I believe that if the company was going to be exclusive for a sytem but later change their mind, they should concentrate on their first system more then the others. As far as them "promising" that it was exclusive, ***** that, they can do what they want. Keep in mind, 99% of companies are strictly in if for the money. Scratch that actually, they all are, some however have more of a vision. Alright people, Stfu with all the fan boy calling and the fanboy being, take the *****s out your asses, and go play your *****ing systems. peace -k

So? These are GAMES consoles first, playing HD-DVD or Blu-ray movies is in addition to these machines being GAMES consoles.
And DOPEY, stop acting like your name. ;) The XBL subscription is the cost of ONE game per year. You can't afford 1 game per year?
I find it amusing that we have gamers who spend large amounts of cash on their consoles, purchase MANY games throughout each year, pay for broadband access to get online and then act as if $50 a year is somehow too much.

Besides, there isn't a populat game or game series in existence that doesn't have gamers online saying it's over rated. The same applies to movies, albums, books, actors, athletes, sports teams, cars etc.

and do u think saying ''Nothing can beat Halo'' is intelligent? Maybe im not the mindless 1, im actually thinking unlike most people here

Last gen, the best version of multiformat games was usually the XBox version, or the PC if supported. In otherwords, the most powerful hardware had the best version, the weakest hardware had the worse!
So the idea that the 360 is holding the PS3 back is rubbish. If the difference between the 360 and PS3 is as much as you think, then the PS3 would have the best version. Instead, as we've seen so far, the games look about the same, which is exactly what we would expect from consoles which are similar in terms of power (as stated by devs working on both!).

Wasn't you saying to me that you were 'thinking' and you were not the mindless one? The reason I responded to you is that I've seen you making similar dumb statements just as you've done here!!! Your comment here IS mindless, just like 'Me'. So stop denying you a fanboy when you act like one!
To answer your question above, I don't like fanboys, so by that, I guess I don't like you. ;)
Anyway, it's a fact that PS3 games have less ram available to them than 360 games (since the OS and video take up 84MB on the PS3, compared to 32MB on the 360). So if the graphics in a multiformat game is not as good as some gamers hoped, 360 fanboys claiming the graphics were downgraded because of the PS3's would be no different than your claims about airplanes in GTA4. In otherwords, both equally stupid, naive, and ignorant.

Lets compare....
360 Dvd9: 9 gigabytes
Ps3 blue ray: 50 gigabytes
360 processor: 3 engines
ps3 cell processor: 8 engines
now you tell why isnt the 360 holdin back the ps3 full power and your are just another 360 fanboy who couldnt afford a ps3 and hatin on the ps3????????????
