Peter DilleNow we know you guys can't get enough of Sony, especially now that the PS3 launch is drawing near. Well, Engadget recently had a chat with SCE's Marketing SVP, Peter Dille. Want to know what is it about? Go take a look:

First off, he says that the PS3 "production is starting to crank up". And the good thing is, he says that we really can expect two million PS3 units before the year ends, so hooray for that. After all, this is just one pre-launch glitch that's nothing to fuss about, as Sony's going to pick up speed when they get the launch jitters out of the way.

Dille says so himself, "When you start out manufacturing, you better get the kinks out on the line, and as you go forward you pick up different efficiencies, and it's gonna get better."

And we sure can count on him for that. We know there's going to be enough PS3 units for all those Sony fans out there, so cheer up. Although your Christmas won't probably be as merry as you'd envisioned it to be, you'll still get your ho-ho-ho's in 2007. Hey, it's better than nothing, right?

Regarding the rumblings about the lack of rumble features in the SIXAXIS, Dille says that Sony thought is wasn't technically feasible for the controller: "Again, competitors do things for a reason and Sony does things their own way for a reason, and we feel like we've got a great product."

And we sure can't wait for this great product to launch. How about you?

First off, Sony doesnt do things their own way, they take what their competitors have done and copy it. They run out of ideas and are like "oh crap, what do we do. oh well take a little bit of motion sensing from here, oh, and how about some online features from here." and then they shoot themselves in the foot by making retarded comments. hopefully the ps3 teaches them a lesson.

» okay

they dont just copy it....they make it better. thats what asian electronics is all about. anyways..... 2mil by the end of the year? sounds good and all....but i dont know.... thats about 1.6mil in a lil over a month. we'll see... i might need to check ebay then.

» you're dumb

So you are saying that only one console should have online capabilities and only one console should have motion tech???

So by that logic:

I guess only some one car can have power windows, and only one car can have wipers and only one car can have GPS.

To be clear: This is the dumbest argument that fanboys could possibly make. Please come up with an intelligent complaint about Sony. For example, no rumble, or a botched worldwide launch.

I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul :)

» i agree

if u were to say that then i guess m$ couldn't have dual anolog or maybe those extra shoulder buttons should go away... and no one but sony would have optical drives in their consoles... and i could go on but ill spare u the humility

» Ssh you fanboys.

Sony lost the use of rumble features due to a lawsuit, they had nothing special going for the console so all of a sudden they picked up an idea very similar to what WII has (only WII does it better, try and use a ps3 controller as a gun or a sword :/). Have any of you seen the E3 videos? The reiculously long queue to see the WII and the minuscule queue to see the PS3? The PS3 representative actually said to buy a 360 and a WII because together they are cheaper and you get the new technology, excellent online, and extensive backcatalogue. I can't wait to see the PS3 crash and burn.

» So This Means...
