Good news, PS3 gamers. 2K Games will be rolling out a patch in response to the graphical issues brought up against the Big Daddy textures in the PS3 version of BioShock (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).

This was announced by 2K Community Manager Elizabeth on the official 2K forums today. The patch will fix two issues:

Big Daddy Bouncer and Elite Bouncer Textures Appeared Pixelated

  • Fix for an issue where large blocky pixels would show up whenever viewing the Bouncer and Elite Bouncer variants of the Big Daddy.

White Bars

  • Fix for an issue where white/discolored bars would show up at the right and bottom sides of the screen during the plane crash / water scene at the beginning of the game.
No definite dates yet, but the patch will be rolled out after the game's launch. For those interested, here are a pair of screenshots showing how Big Daddy will look like after the fix:

Nice to see they're actually fixing stuff.... but if it was that simple to apply a fix... it should of been done before gold and production of the discs.

Zackly.

A lot of the industry is getting lazy, because they know they can bang a game out quickly, then patch it as and when!

have you ever thought that maybe they didn't notice it? i didn't notice it when i played it. i think people need to stop *****ing at the bioshock ps3 devs. be happy that they even decided to port this in the first place.
