Pamico: Home launch to be similar to Gmail's

PlayStation Home - Image 1

After that batch of screenshots we saw yesterday showing us more of PlayStation Home's latest build, a bit of new word came in from no less than PSN senior director Susan Pamico. She spoke about when and how the virtual world will launch and compared it to a popular email service.

While there's some concern coming from fans about how long it will take for the new service to launch, Pamico assured the public that Home is still on track to go out this year, most likely in beta form.

"Rollout will be similar to Gmail," she told online magazine Qore. For those who didn't get her drift, she's referring to an open, working beta which people can use for a while until the full thing finally hits.

Does this mean that everyone will be accessing the trial run before Home hits version 1.0? We'll have to wait and see. More updates soon.

» Exactly!

I mean, just look at how much of a failure that was with Gmail!

Wait. No. No, it wasn't.

» FreePlay ftw.

But yeah, that's a very good idea. Sony has regained their 135% Respect Rating from me. Anyone who complains about this needs their PS3 to be self-destructed immediately.

» FreePlay Gmail sucks

ummm FreePlay thinks Gmail is good are you kidding me you cant even send files threw that web it always says error. and if you have to be invited to join home it would be the dumbes moves ever

you would have to know a friend, who has a friend, to know a guy who works at the store, where he knows his moms cousins son, who has home to innvite you. but he has to ask your mom whats ur PSN ID and he askes you to email it to him and i have @hotmail but he has gmail which $uck$ and doesnt work right.

soo FreePlay dont mess with me because your really not as cool as me, who asked the barbers best friend and he had to ask the gardener if i was cool but thats just me because i already new the answer i just like watching people run around it pretty fun. like FreePlay whos free ballin right now.

» Thats a good idea...

its a good idea if you think about it, because if you try to complain about problems with it or anything not working, Sony is not to blame due to the fact that it still is technically a beta. And then they can fix any problems that people are having, because there will be a lot of people using it so there is a lot better chance of finding problems, before they release the 'official' PSHome
