PAL fans to Sony: where are our Casino Royale freebies? |

Ó
After rushing home your pre-ordered PlayStation 3, carefully removing the bubble wraps and plugging in your 60 GB, CELL monster machine into the PlayStation Network, you probably then realized, "Hey, wait a minute! Where's my free Blu-Ray movie?" Well, you're one out of 20,000 hopefuls that have more or less wondered about that, too. Despite being revealed in detail at pre-launch briefing events, Sony doesn't have any official promotion regarding the free movie giveaway. It's bothered some people that they went through the trouble of getting online and probably won't get anything in return. But as Sony revealed to Eurogamer that they still do remember their promise and will keep it.
Unfortunately for many of the 600,000 European customers who've grabbed their PlayStation 3 unit, will not know whether they qualified for the 20,000 online registrants yet until they receive a slightly delayed e-mail confirming that they will receive the free Blu-Ray movie. It won't be arriving instantly though.
As Sony claims, the movie will be coming, but you will have to wait 45 days after the release of the popular Blu-Ray movie on your region, before it gets mailed to you. (donning flame helmet)

It's right there on the Australian Playstation.com website!
>>you probably then realized, "Hey, wait a minute! Where's my free Blu-Ray movie?"
I certainly did not, it's not exactly a secret that you had to register online and the movie isn't out until April, and then there's shipping delays and whatnot.

Still I would have waited til now if I was getting Casino Royale. I could care how long it took. I saw it in the theatre and I very much was going to buy the blu ray when it came out. So six months later, I'd have been glad to wait.

"Buy a PLAYSTATION®3 home entertainment system and be one of the first 475,000 people in 41 countries across Europe, Middle East and Africa who register the first master account for your console on the PLAYSTATION®Net work on or after 23 March 2007 to receive one copy of the "Casino Royale" film on Blu-Ray Disc (the "Disc") subject to availability."

I guess the 20,000 is the Aussie number to make it almost 500,000 like reports say. Another wrong article by QJ. They need to check up on the facts first..

And in the email it states that hte disc will "arrive within 45days"!
For the sake for all be like the many and be patient! do you really think something like this is easy to manage?!
If you didn't get the email guess what? you weren't quick enough! quit moaning, sony stated the figures who could get the disc.
Did you really think with the sales figures you were quick enough, I didn't think I would be (nicely proven wrong though). Why were your hopes so high anyway?

it came with a nice little letter saying thank you for being one of the first to register blah blah blah and more freebies will be coming my way in the future.

Much better than my PSP experience - I never did get my Spiderman 2 movie on UMD although I qualified for it, was told I should get it and followed up five times...
So - 100% better experience this time around.
In fact - it's all been better. PS3 was in stock and got it on launch day, PSP wasn't and had to wait. Casino Royale turned up early, Spiderman 2 never arrived.
Unfortunately, the Xbox and Wii fanboys will spin this good news so that Sony still take a bashing - what a shame...
