Assassin's Creed - Image 1Here's an upgrade! Michael Pachter is not just predicting sales figures of games and their companies. He's now crossed over to predicting game release dates! That's right. And his forecast is that Assassin's Creed 2 will becoming out before April 2010.

According to his crystal ball:

We believe investors should focus on Ubisoft's prospects for FY:10 (Fiscal Year 2010), particularly as its products continue to sell well on the strong Wii and DS platforms, and as it rolls out a superb lineup. We expect solid year-over-year growth from the casual (Nintendo) games lineup, with the introduction of two new brands next fall, and expect strong revenue contribution from Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Avatar next fiscal year.

Actually, his predictions may not be that far off. After all, Assassin's Creed's (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) ending was just begging for a sequel. So maybe he might actually be on to something. It's just a matter of finding out when it will be coming out, not if it will be coming out. Ubisoft, for their part, has yet to provide a confirmation, denial, or non-commital to Pachter's comments.

Gee wizz, I'm glad he could predict an Assassin's Creed sequel within the next year and a half, boy that takes guts.....

I've always wondered why people listen to this guy; either he says something that ends up being completely wrong or he says very obvious stuff like this. I mean really, predicting a sequel to Assassin's Creed to come out two years after the first? I wouldn't exactly call that bold, more like common sense. Being an analyst most be really, really easy. I'd love this guy's job - it seems so simple, its just basic predictions: I for see a Mass Effect Sequel within the next year, announced at E3, perhaps earlier. It'll still be a Microsoft exclusive but may launch on the PC at the same time as the 360 now that Bioware is owned by EA, oh and it'll make a good amount of money and sell at least 3 million copies. There, that's a prediction just from me, if I'm wrong oh well, but if I'm right I'm going to become an analyst.

You're not going to be an analyst considering Mass Effect will no longer be an Xbox exclusive. Both the original and M.E. 2 will be coming out for the PS3

(most likely)
