LittleBigPlanet - Image 1Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has dubbed Media Molecule's PlayStation 3 title LittleBigPlanet as a possible console mover.

"The game is really innovative, and I think it adds a family element that is so far missing from both the Xbox 360 and the PS3," said Pachter in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz at the Tokyo Game Show.

The analyst, however, still believes that Sony needs to either drop the PS3's price even further or come up with a cheaper SKU in order to meet its target of 11 million consoles shipped by March 2008.

"If Sony doesn't cut price at all during its fiscal year, they will probably miss their 11 million shipment target," he said. "However, a price cut early in 2008 should spark sales, and their line-up of LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3, Xbox 360) should help move consoles."

like a 2d game can "move" console sales...

1st: the game will be GREAT but will never be worth 500$, lol. 2nd: the biggest console "movers" in the world are a good line-up that "pops" games every week. We know that sony will have that for end-2k7 and early 2k8 so things should get way better.

ass

it's not a 2d game and it's not $500.... you're just a douchetool. it's a side-scrolling, $60, 3d phenomenon. KTHXBYE.

Say what you want...

But with the amount of fun that people have been having at my place just playing the family fun Super Rub A Dub PSN title - I have no doubt that LBP will sell a lot. It looks a lot cooler than a lot of Wii stuff - so people are going to accept it.

Er...

3D. Graphics and movement. Sorry, FAIL. And no game is worth 500 bucks. But see, the PS3 can play one that one game. The more you know.

i agree

this game can't convince a casual no a gamer to spend $500 4 one this game. It's not bad 4 ppl who already own a ps3 tho.

WTF

as much as i want to beleive LBP will take over gears' throne at my house and every other person whos actually played its house...i just dont see it happening. I mean look at the gameplay...am i missing something here? has the world gone mad? how is that funner looking than gears? I will give it a huge chance tho, like i did with warhawk and sadly, warhawk is NOT as fun as gears. nothing is, it should be called gearsbox.

are you serious?

Gears has got to be the most frustrating and annoying game i have ever played. The controls feel so sluggish and annoying, and the novelty of getting chainsawed in half wears off in about 3 minutes.
by Morbidly - 2007-09-25 13:52:09
ok...

you obviously havent played gears enough, or your a very stubborn player who refuses to play it enough to get 'good' at it. The chainsaw is something new and the most badass looking thing in any game. Getting blasted into bits with the shotty is the coolest thing in any game. If you get shot in the legs, your legs blow of, if you get shot in the torso, your body flies into pieces that looks better than anything ive ever seen. 3.5 million copies have already been sold. Thats like almost the entire ps3 built in user base. The gameplay in gears is innovative, not sluggish, me and 3.5 million ppl dont seem to think the gameplay is sluggish. So it must be you.

Agreed

LBP is a great game and i can't wait for this title to hit selves. Second its definitely a console mover you idiots don't know what games are console movers. Also it seems platon is the new biased xbot MS fanboy and MCS in the old days. Buy a PS3 you tool and not just bash the system that you have no idea what its all about.
