Ó

ebayWhat can you do in six seconds? While some Guinness-holding record escapes us at the moment, what we do know is that there is one PS3 sold every six seconds on eBay.

That's some neat factoid for you. Says research firm Terapeak Marketplace, November 18th marked the historic day, with more than 2,200 units sold between 8 am and 10 am PST. Between November 16th and 18th, there were more than 35,000 units listed on the online auction.

The average sold price on the 18th was US$ 1,243. As for the time period between 3-day range, the price average was just a little bit higher at US$ 1,276.

How about offering a bundle where i get the PS3 plus $1k or $2k worth of credit to buy Sony products for $1600 or $2600. That way only the most avid gamers would be willing to buy it and Sony would be getting the speculators profit. When supply picks up they can go back to selling the system without the attached credit.

This would solve the problem of PS3 hoarding, also.

It's worth remembering that a PS3 is not, in fact, sold every six seconds on eBay, but RE-SOLD every six seconds. The sales have already occured, sony have not gained anything.
