Well didn't that title get you guys excited? And it is indeed a cause for great excitement. Sony may obviously feel otherwise, but what the heck. It's still a successful hack of Oblivion and  Fallout 3 mods on your PS3.

While it may not be entirely new - jailbreakers, after all, can already run their PC mods for these games on their PS3 - it still sends excited goosebumps down your spine to see it. One hacker had this to say about it:

"Thanks Denero, I got all these mods to work

The box of wonders (All weapons All ammo)
Weight8000 (carry more items)
No Degradation
Skeleton key
Speed Glasses"

I wonder what this could possibly mean when Portal 2 comes out. I wonder if it will be able to use PC mods.

Heh heh, Garry's Mod on PS3 would be pretty cool. XD

I've already done this months ago.
I have the Fallout 3 mods and DLC on the PC and transfered them to the backup I have of Fallout 3 on USB HDD and they work.

Saved me heaps of money. :D

Completely oblivious to what the Streisand Effect is? Silence one man on the internet, thousands will retaliate by mirroring his shit everywhere (remember what happened to the AACS encryption key) Plus, the only thing happing now to Geohot is a temporary restraining order. If Sony's initial action didn't cause a full blown Streisand Effect, sure this will.

This is the sort of stuff I do like to see someone take the time to develop for games so you can screw around with a game you already have. Much like th e CWCHEAT for PSP, I'd love to see something like that for the PS3 as well in time.

Since Sony doesn't authorize devices like the GameShark or Pro Action Replay etc anymore I'd like to see more hacks and "cheats" as it were developed for the console.

And those that will start to cry foul, what about trophies etc, it'll make it too easy to get them, blah blah blah. I really don't care about trophies, I have better things to do than try and compare trophies, or Gamer Scores (ie virtual wangs)with other players online. Trophies and gamer scores are just things that pop up on screen while I'm playing a game, if you WANT to go and collect them all, then you're probably not the type of person that would cheat to get them anyway since you play the game to completion and to try out all the challenges.

OMG If this works well with the environmental mods I am extremely excited. Even still... I'm going to wait a while to see what goes on with PS3 mods vs Sony. If it ends up just being like the PSP, but still with complete PSN access, then I'll try it out.

Its these sort of things that cause sony to take action, SONY doesnt even care about backups online but they do care about mods online and this is what causes them to retaliate in my opinion not the actual backing up of games online. This is taking it too far! :)
