Space on your PlayStation 3's USB ports getting sparse? We're letting the guys know that accessory manufacturer Nyko Technologies - known for their Intercooler line of accessories - has just announced that they're now shipping two new products for the PS3 console: The ChargeBase, and the BluWave.The ChargeBase accessory will allow users to allow PS3 owners to charge up to four SIXAXIS controller at once and, given that it uses a wall socket instead of a USB plug, should help free up some needed space on your console's USB ports.
The BluWave, on the other hand, is an infrared remote for the PS3's resident videophiles. This device should allow movie fans the ability control their PS3's Blu-Ray player with something a little more traditional than the aforementioned SIXAXIS controllers.
We don't have any info on these two device's prices - stick around in case we pick up more info in the upcoming days.

I have been looking for a Sixaxis charger. This is awesome.
just use your PC with a USB hub if you have that many controllers. I only have 2 contorllers one is always full and one is in play. The chargebase to me is useless because i only play by myself most the times.
For all us NON-Hermits this is a good thing. I was actually waiting for the charge base for a while. One thing that puzzles me tho is the infrared remote? i thought the PS3 didnt have a infrared port only bluetooth for remotes? anyhoo if it can be used then it's great I can use it as a universal remote to control the tv and my stereo.
the 360 comes with something like that right out of the box!! ps3 still sucks

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know that I still like 360 power bricks shoved up my ass and that I'm still mildly retarded, poor and hella jealous of your PS3s. Please take everything I say with a grain of salt... seriously... I love you guys...
im sure im going to get the charge base, i could just get three more USB cables and charge all four controllers like that, but this would be a much cleaner look. but i don't know about the remote, i think i would get the sony blutooth romote insted
The charging base doesn't need cables. It is a cradle for 4 controllers that has a mini USB plug fixed in each cradle area so each controller is placed in the cradle with the USB port down so it is held and charged simultaneously. The only cable that should be needed is the supplied power cable from presumably a wall-wart.
I know that there is a Sony branded BlueTooth remote, but this infrared remote idea might be useful to allow universal remotes to control the PS3. I don't know the details of the Nyko remote yet so we will just have to wait and see.

I dun have any problem using the sixaxis as a remote... and if I did, I'd just go buy the blue tooth remote for the PS3.

just so you guys know i already saw this at my local gamestop today. i could have picked it up but i only have 2 controllers and saw no need since it doesnt take long to charge.
