Unreal Tournament 3 - Image 1We've got some bad news for PS3 users hoping to get an Unreal Tournament 3 demo. Whereas PC players will be able to experience three levels of UT3 goodness, it seems PS3 gamers won't have the same luxury.

The news was announced during a recent press event, where Epic Games VP Mark Rein confirmed that there were currently no plans to offer a PS3 demo of the game.

According to Rein, the reason for the decision was that Epic Games was focusing on finishing the game. He explained that all games have to go through Sony to receive a stamp of approval before release, with demos requiring the same certification before they can be offered to the general public. According to Rein, it would take too much time to develop a demo that would also get Sony's certification, so they decided to focus on finishing the game first.

That being said though, expect us to have some impressions on the PC demo of the game when it comes out. For PS3 gamers though, they'll just have to be patient.

I wouldn't get your hopes up

From what I have read there seems to be a problem with the engine on the PS3 and Epic wont release the game if its not perfect.

meh

This was announced about a month ago. It's still possible that UT3 could make 07 but I'd have to say it will release in very early 08.

I'm really debating on whether or not I should have even bought a PS3. It's awe inspiring, don't get me wrong. But we don't GET ANYTHING. So far there have been no blockbuster games. PS3 doesn't even have a console seller title out yet. Anything major that we will be recieving is also coming out on the 360. What's even worse is that most titles are ready for microsofts' box but are on hold because the ps3 version is buggy and held on contract. Sony can't even publish their own titles on time. Look at Home--it's not out yet. It was supposed to be released in the fourth quarter of 2007. Now it's been pushed back to 2008. GTA IV? That was supposed to be released this month. Pushed back to 2008. Why was it? PS3 hardware issues. So far the only game that has even been halfway decent that has a high replay value (in my opinion) was Warhawk. The rest of these titles coming out are delayed or aren't exclusive. Hardware is even being delayed. Look at the Dualshock 3. Japan has it right now, which is great that it was released but...that doesn't help anybody else in the rest of the world. Something has to give here. Either the developers of these games to be released suck at their jobs (which is highly unlikely) or the PS3 hardware is just plain and simply too complex to develop for in a reasonable amount of time. Correct me if i'm wrong on any of my statistics, but overall it's clear that we are getting hosed. I spent this much money and i'm not really happy with any of the games I own or have played. The Linux thing? Yea that's great. I tried it out. It's got more bugs in it than an arabs turban. It's not even worth using. So somewhere we have this great system, with all these SPU's, and really nothing to show for it. Of course I could just need a cigarette. Anybody else agree on this stuff?
