Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya had mentioned replayability for the game before, but apparently Platinum Games won't be going the DLC route to further enhance post-completion play.

The Platinum folks revealed during a Bayonetta panel at the San Diego Comic-Con that there will be no microtransactions for the game. Their exact words? "The game ships with everything you want." Man, it's been a while since I've heard words to that effect used for a console game.

Bayonetta will make its way onto PS3s and Xbox 360s in the West in January 2010. Japan, on the other hand, will get to do all those awesome torture attacks starting October 29.

death to DLC

great to hear... i loathe downloadable content, it's just a sorry excuse to make money out of quickly made extras. except some cases, like burnout which has some free stuff. i will never download DLC EVER. 84euros total for a complete game? sheesh

that is so true..

That is my opinion too, DLC are such a scam! Look at the FPS map packs: 5,99€ for 1 or 2 maps. And what about Dead Space DLCs? Pay 5,99€ and it'll be easier to clear the game. At least make some free DLC, we pay already too much for a single game.

replayability...

if it means replaying the same level over and over again with different attack styles then ... it is not something new. So far I don't know any details yet so I will keep an open mind... For games like this and Ninja Gaiden and DMC... if the play mode will randomize what enemies will show up where (honestly.. couple times replaying a stage which you already know what will show up where at exactly what time isn't much of fun...) or have multiple routes then it might help replayability.

nice

Finally a game that doesn't rip you off. Most DLCs are already in the disc and they make you pay to unlock it.

Most?

Go back and check your facts again genius.

May not be most

But lately far too much DLC has just been features or little extras already on your game disc that you pay to unlock with a code and its getting annoying. I want to see more big DLC like levels, campaigns, characters and stuff like that rather than the blatant rip offs we've been getting. An announcement of "No DLC" holds about as much interest as an announcement for "DLC already planned" to me.

one word: COSTUMES

c'mon now, hot women and we can't play dress up? You know there's going to be new ways to dress for the paltry sum of a few MS points.
