Guerrilla Games:

Dash all your hopes for co-op in Killzone 2. It ain't gonna happen, according to the Game Director, Mathijs de Jonge:

Currently there are no plans for co-op in Killzone 2.

Technically it would be quite difficult to implement it for the story mode as for example the mission sections are loaded in seamlessly - no loading screens , and that would cause issues with teleporting players. Even without co-op it's still a big game and gamers will have plenty to sink their teeth into.

Not to sour grape, but the game's still gonna be wicked even without co-op, and we all know the real action happens in multiplayer anyway. It would have been awesome to have co-op, but what can you do. At least there aren't any loading screens?

I didn't realize

That some were expecting co-op; I thought they said that there wasn't gonna be co-op like 2 years ago....oh well, at least those who were hoping for it now have it confirmed that it ain't gonna happen.

why would they say this?

If I were them I'd have just left it up to the players' imagination. I would've waited at least until after launch to drop this news...

Well...

If they announce beforehand that there is none, reviewers can't really eat them out as much for it, especially since they've given a good reason as to why it wasn't incorporated.
