Ó
A mag scan has confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 2 is finally coming to the PlayStation 3, dubbed Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. This version may be late in coming, but it looks like it may be worth the wait. The game's going to be an upgraded version of the Xbox 360 game.
The mag's in Japanese, but here are some translations (thanks to GameTrailers):
- It will be an upgraded version of Ninja Gaiden 2 (not a direct port)
- Set to release in autumn 2009
- The magazine will be reporting new elements in coming issues
- Producer and director: Yosuke Hayashi (From Sigma)
- Development: Team Ninja
- New weapon - spiked hammer "Genma"
- New giant boss battles not in the 360 version
- New playable character - female ninja Ayane

if they up the ante on the graphics then im down once the price goes down a bit. I really enjoyed the original for xbox, sigma for ps3 and ng2 for 360. maybe sigma will throw in unlockable versions of the arcade from back in the days.
I can sell my 360 version now
I dunno. I'll have to try the demo first. I should have tried the demo of the first game before I rented it. Just found the game very lacking and not much fun. Still, least I didn't buy it. I'll give the sequels demo a go to see if things have improved any. I was never fond of the old Ninja Gaiden's either. There were a lot of NES platformers I enjoyed but I didn't rate NG's series very highly.
There was something wrong with the 2nd one I just can't put my hands on it. The graphics were okay and it's probably due to the body part removal. I don't like that. But here's hoping that this games graphics is actually better and the game to be great.
I knew they were gonna do this seeing as there was a QJ article in the past that said Team Ninja loved to work with Sony.
Well, I might end up getting this. I don't know, I think I'll get pissed it I try it on the harder difficulties, but I'm familiar with beating games on the hardest setting anyway so meh. The game series is infamous for it's challenge, and I like challenge. Wonder if it'll be released on the PS Store like the first one? Or was that just a demo? @_@
its not gonna do well after this long, i mean ps3 gamers will have god of war 3(hopefully), uncharted 2, heavy rain, infamous, cod;mw2, and a bunch of other good games to play, why would they pay for recycled material. yea the game might have been good a year ago but standards go up, and people want quality games for their 60 bucks. so dont expect it to be a blockbuster on the ps3. (look at what happend with bioshock... good game, yea, comes to ps3 a yr later and ppl dont really care for it. they have seen all the spoilers by then and much better games were released. I think Deadspace came out at that same time and to me it seemed way better than Bioshock)
I say bring it on.
The game won't be the same. It will have updated graphics, less bugs, and extra features.
I personally thought Sigma was an overall better game than NG2. Lighting was better, blur filters were better used, fighting was way more refined and sophisticated(but that's the same for the original game), and character model graphics were WAY better. Level design in NG2 were much better, however. I dunno. I hope they can improved upon NG2 like Sigma did for NG. And PLEASE throw in the classic NG games too!
And here's to hoping the next DOA comes out on PS3 too!
DOA series, after DOA2, has become no more than a just fan service. For serious fighting game, Tekken is quite beyond. Seriously, you'd only get DOA because of the girls and Ryu Hayabusa.
exactly.
The fact that I'll get to play as Ayane makes it more than worth the purchase.
Lol I remember calling this WAYYYYY back in Jan 08.... http://ps3.qj.net/EGM-admits-typo-Ninja-Gaiden-2-not-coming-to-PS3/pg/49/aid/112158 And got into a HUGE argument with people that would swear up and down that this would NEVER come to the PS3 >:D. So tell me Kingofdaberbz, how DOES that crow taste?? LOL :D
DOA is a joke of a fighter. Anyone who plays only that and claims their a hardcore fighter fan should give their heads a shake.
This game will suck balls cuz its on the Failstation 3 the origonal ninja gaiden 2 ROCKED! cuz it was on the xbox! in short PS3 sucks donkey balls
cause the the PS3 is getting a second NG game. The first was good on the ps3 imo but that's just me.
No comments. And technically we was still right. NG2 never did make it's way on PS3. This is Sigma 2, not NG2 and not a port like Sigma was. So there's a big difference. Also, you have to remember this was when Itagaki was still in charge of NG and was with Tecmo. Even he said, he doesn't own Tecmo and or the NG game. NG2 was published under Microsoft as exclusive. PERIOD. Now that Itagaki has left Tecmo, he no longer controls what happens to NG series here on out, or DOA. Many felt Itagaki killed NG with the second game. Hell, for all we know DOA and NG could be PS3 exclusives from here on out. It's now Tecmo's game. The fact Itagaki was so arrogant thinking he's above all, yet a second team made Sigma which was a pretty impressive port, proves to me NG can be made for any system. Also, no offense but your comment reeks of fanboyism. Anyway, the best thing about this title is, it's going to have PSN trophies. Something Sigma 1 didn't have. I can't wait. ^_^
You shouldn't play it if you're only interested in the trophies.
I think it's the same game as the xbox 360 version, just upgraded to have more stuff.
its the same exact game with updates..if you like the original..then y would you not like this one?
Please don't tell me what I should or should not do with my money when buying games. Also, I never said I was only buying this title off of Trophies. Please read my comment again, I said "Anyway, the best thing about this title is, it's going to have PSN trophies. Something Sigma 1 didn't have". Which means the first one didn't have trophies and most people who played it, like myself who still has the game, would have loved to replay it again with trophies. This game will have trophies at launch. Never said I was buying this for only trophies, just making an observation for people who buys games and also like trophies. As for the statement, trophies do make a good impact on what games I buy, but hardly the only thing that I base my purchases. I'm an adult, I make my own choices in what I buy with my own money. I have 13 games that does not have trophies, but also have 8 games that does. Believe it or not, the economy isn't great right now, and with games being 60 dollars+ in some places, people look towards games with replayability, and this is what trophies do. I happen to love playing games with trophies, and now that 09 games from here on out will have trophies at launch, I don't need to pick which games I want to play with trophies. Not like I did before.
