Tekken 6 - Image 1

Okay, Tekken fans, we managed to get some new info about Namco Bandai's upcoming PS3 title, Tekken 6. Tekken 6 will reportedly have the biggest character lineup in any Tekken game to date. It will also feature the debut of two more never-before seen characters. Currently, the game's about 50% complete, so more updates should surface in the near future.

Also, according to SDTekken, this latest iteration in the popular fighting franchise will have a new feature called the "Rage System". This new feature will give players a boost to their attack damage depending on how low their life bar is. The lower the life bar, the stronger the attack.

Here are more details about the game from SDTekken:
  • Live Monitor panel now has touch screen functionality. You can view either the live match or view other matches recorded throughout Japan.
  • In T5DR, to be broadcasted on TEKKEN-NET live monitors you had to be Fujin ranked or above. For Tekken 6 it allows lower ranked matches to be broadcasted on the live network.
  • Ranking starts at Beginner.
  • Rankings will now be international.
  • Tekken Teams/Clans can use an original common item.
  • Teams/Clans will now be assigned a rank/level.
  • You can achieve medals by completing certain tasks. Much like Virtua Fighter 5. For example, get a 15 win streak, receive a 15 win streak medal/reward.
  • There are 12 total stages. Some stages are connected to each other. Not all stages will have a linked stage.
  • There will still be infinite stages.
  • For breakable stages, there are unique combos/juggles you can perform on those stages only.
  • Namco does not intend to do minor patches/tweaks to the game(like VF5 does), instead they plan on launching the game and having it as balanced as possible in November.
  • The new Tekken 6 arcade board has faster read/load times than Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection.

the graphis are bad and its gunna suck on the ps3. they need to make a 360 version!! that way namco can make a great fighting game with great graphis and online play.

it's just another case of more xbox fans wanting ps3 games, makes me rofl. if i want halo 3, ill get a 360, not need it to come over to the ps3. if all games went on all consoles, why would you want to buy a more expensive system?

if you want tekken 6, buy a *****n ps3 and stop wishing more ps3 games will come over to the 360. as.sholes.

» hey loser

I know by your forza/GT comment that you just atarted playing games last year so you don't know this but, Tekken is a Playstation game always, though it may have been on a gameboy, but so's everything else, except halo that is.

$50k that's a laughable amount, it'll cost more than that to bring tekken 6 or even tekken dr to the xbox.

btw I don't understand how the ps3 graphics would be worse than the supposed xbox version. How will the xbox handle 1080p with at least 60 frames per second AND still work despite its overheating problems?

hmm....

So, who's your character? I've been a solid Lei Wulong user since Tekken 3.

» no way

it is going to be great. the graphics will better than the 360. plus, it's only 50% done. Anyways, the trailer is just the BETA. The director said he is improving the graphics and the graphics will look better than the Dead or Alive games. Also, don't only think that the 360 has online play. The PS3 has online play 2. The game was also said that it might be online play. THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE THE BEST FIGHTING GAME EVER!

» character

My fav character is Jin, and i play good with him but when compared to some other fighters he isnt very strong. I hope they give Jin more better moves. I also like using Law which looks cool on ps3.

» Mishimas

Heihachi seems ti be the strongest. Jin should be stronger than the other Mishimas since everything revoles around him or a least as equal to them.
