Yes, we know you can't stay put until the late 2008 release of Konami Digital's much-awaited Silent Hill installment, Silent Hill: Homecoming (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PS3). Here's something that will let you survive the wait: a handful of new Silent Hill 5 screenshots. There's only a couple of screens with some monster action in them, but they're creepy enough nonetheless.

For those who need a little backgrounder as to what Silent Hill: Homecoming is about, the fifth installment to the psychological thriller series deals with the soldier Alex Shepard, and the search for his missing brother, Joshua. Strange, mysterious circumstances also plague Alex's other family members: his mother turned catatonic, while his father had disappeared as well.

Definitely intriguing, and we certainly can't wait for the game's release. In the meantime, eat your heart out with this fresh new batch of screenshots!

I recall earlier shots looking better. Am I wrong?

» no.

These shots look worse than the last few. It's like these are from an earlier version or something.

» Don't know

I heard at one place that these are the 360 version

and another place that they were probably straight

from a dev. kit without running any Hi-Res elements.

My guess is the latter but there is a difference.

» Agreed

This definitly can't be the final graphics. The textures are blurry as hell. I guess, it will be allright in the end :)
