GTHD Screens

Dear GTHD fans, rejoice as we deliver to you yet another batch of hot, hot new screenshots from Polyphony's upcoming pseudo- iteration of the Gran Turismo series.

Gran Turismo High Definition is designed to showcase the HD capabilities of the PS3 console. It will output at 1920x1080p pixels resolution and 60 fps. The menus have been optimized specifically for HD resolution. As you can see in the screenshots, there are more than the traditional six racers on track. Oh yes, in GTHD the numbers of cars in a race has also been raised from 6 to 12. In addition to that, the game has been optimised, significantly reducing the time to about five seconds. So without further much ado, we introduce you new screenshots from GTHD:

hahaha

Good-Bye Forza, you don't have anything on this game...this game looks as good if not better, and is over twice as big as Forza. Anyone who tries to compare the two needs to be hit in the face.

hmm

you know gran turismo always sounded liek a good idea to me... but then i buy it and it's boring as hell... why do i have to take driving tests to play the game? it's painful. oh well, it is the 'real driving simulator' isn't it! this doesn't look too bad this, a big 'so there' to the idiots who said this was going to be rubbish. in what way is it not a full version? is it just gt4 made new-looking? is that it? i wonder if it'll use the tilt or the psp connectivity...

ye

ye all it is is GT4 optimized into HD for the PS3, and it looks amazing! (it even looked amazing on the PS2). GT4 is still and always will be the best driving simulator on the market.

gt4o

gt4 optimised for the ps3.... wait till a tru sequel comes along (gt5), hell gt4 optimised alone blows away forza.

LOL

Yes it looks great, but Forza is still a much better game to me and you still haven't seen what Forza2 will look like, so stop comparing them until they comes out. I have played all the GT's and have been board with them after a week or so, Heck I even got board of PGR games. I Like Forza for all the customizing options. It isn't about the best graphics. It's all about game play and Forza2 will have the game play.......

No

No No NO, this game looks ok but no way is it going to be beter then Forza. In all honesty I think PGR3 looks better then this. Its too early to tell though.

No aswell

I own PGR3 and the incar view is great. Forza > GT.

doesnt matter

if you have a 360 you buy forza, the same goes for ps fans you get gt5 but back to tgs there is news that the real gt5 will be what they show at tgs, well according to ign.

funny this is just gt4

it shows how much better a game looks with HD. also i don't share the lack of feal for GT games as some of you do, i love matching up defferent models and playing 2 player. also the driving tests are great cuase the things you learn thare work with real cars too, plus now if you pass the test in a past game you can load that save game in so you don't need to take the tests over again

1920 x 1080p @ 60fps is something only GTHD is doing right now. No other console, game, etc. GT FTW... Those CG movies of Forza do look good though :P

--"1920 x 1080p @ 60fps is something only GTHD is doing right now." Well of course, it's GT4 ported to the PS3. Name a PS2 game that couldn't run in 1080p when ported to the PS3? GT-HD is really just a stop gap game, one to keep GT racing fans happy until the 'real' sequel is ready (GT5). :)

Cool

It's cool seeing GT4 in 1080p with 12 cars all, but I'm still waiting for a ture sequal. Plus I don't even think this is a game, it's just a tech demo. So we'll jus have to wait for the ture sequal. As for Forza 2, I can't wait untill that game comes out too. It's good to hear that the game will run at 60fps. I felt kind of bumbed when I played Forza because it ran at 30fps, while GT4 could run at 60fps while in 1080i. I hope both games are great.

"The menus have been optimized for HD?

Really? The menus? Wow! I presume this is a 1080p demo to say, see, it can do 1080p. But like the other poster said, it's not a true sequel but a 1080p version of a PS2 game. But really, do the screen shots even show anything? They are surprisingly low res (the screen shots) and so it's hard to see what the game really looks like. From the screens, PGR3 looks better. fritzilla

GT4

The game itself already has alot of high quality models. The Photo mode in GT4 proves that easily. So in reality, this upgrade of GT4 is showing the car models in their true high quality form but with the same quality tracks. Overall, GT is a very fun game. The only people who dont have fun with the game are people who enjoy arcade style racing games. You need to be realistic, and thats what GT4 is about. No other game out there has the quality, time and detail put into it like GT4. If you could drive as good in real life as you could in the game, you would get near identical lap times on the real tracks as you would in the game. Professionals have tested it out and the difference is a margin of a second. Tell me, what other game can say the same thing?

hd baby

gt5 could be optimized to run at 120fps. so I think that they are holding back fo gt6. and I wouldnt call it an upgrade of gt4. it will have more cars on the road at once, more cars to choose from, bikes, and most likely online play. thats a big difference. and really whats the difference in the project gothem games.

--"Professionals have tested it out and the difference is a margin of a second. Tell me, what other game can say the same thing?" Forza! But then that's not surprising, since both games are driving simulators. To my surprise, I did enjoy the driving experience of Forza much more than GT3/4 (for numerous reasons), and therefore I'm really looking forward to Forza 2. Hence GT-HD is on my "so what?" list of PS3 games, but GT5 is different. This is the real sequel and therefore should include everything I wanted to see in GT4 that wasn't in the game (better AI, online, damage etc). I can't wait (but I have to). :)
