New Screenshots for F.E.A.R. |
To fans of horror-themed FPS games, F.E.A.R. may just be the next best thing after the original Silent Hill game, which has been known to unnerve even the most detached and stone-faced players. Monolith Productions and Vivendi Universal originally made this game for the PC, but ports for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 are currently on their way.
The story of this game follows the events during a paranormal crisis that the First Encounter Assault Recon (FEAR) is ordered to contain. However, as the mission begins where the player takes on the role of the newly-recruited FEAR Point Man, the entire team is mysteriously and violently killed, and our Point Man is left to fend for himself. The entire game is also literally haunted by the mysterious girl in the red dress, Alma. As the game progresses, more light is shed on the identity of our protagonist, Alma and circumstances surrounding him.

i dont think its that great of a game(for the demo atleast) but ill probally get it if i have some spare change :)
blah blah blah FPSes on consoles suck.
Hasn't the "mysterious little girl" plot device been used to death already in movies and games? Where is the originality?
the originality is in the gameplay. this game is great. period. and it's fun (something that's been lacking in a lot of games lately). the story is really intriguing and interesting too, and the ending is kickass.
also, the creepy little girl is borderline cliche in *movies* only. she has yet to wear out her welcome in videogames.
trust me, if you haven't played F.E.A.R. at all, everytime that little ***** makes an appearance in the game you want to wet yourself. F.E.A.R. is all about the atmosphere (which it nails), and the fun (ditto). i'm not sure about what portion of the game the demo is, but i'm about halfway through it, and it doesn't let up on surprises and interesting scenarios so far.
and the slow motion mechanic never gets old. don't shortchange yourself on an excellent FPS experience at least until you've given it a shot (and i recommend trying it on the PC, not a console).
The graphics on the demo really suck. The character models look like crap and have you looked at your own arm while playing? The arm and gun models are terrible.
