Surprise! SCEA's already been burning the midnight oil for the upcoming SOCOM: Confrontation v1.3 patch and guess what? They've actually also been able to squeeze in a new feature that wasn't revealed when the patch was initially announced: the Quick Match option! Go grab your buddies and spread the cheer!

SOCOM: Confrontation - Image 1

The patch will activate the Quick Match option under the main menu. Selecting the option will bring you to the party screen where you can chat with your friends while you wait for others to accept the invites into the game. When you're all good to go, you can choose among different game types:
  • 16x16 Ranked
  • 16x16 Unranked
  • 16x16 Respawn
Playlists are selected at random, but all large maps and game modes will be available. And that's just the start of the Quick Match feature. Seth Luisi of SCEA promises that they're already planning to expand this feature in future patches. Once v1.30 goes live, they'll tackle two items on priority list for the Quick Match option: to include smaller games and smaller maps.

Seth you'll need to do more than this to bring me back to socom. What about the lan option that many of us still asking ??? The game was release way to soon. It needs better maps also.

what about password in rooms ... tired of annoying kids. And i'm not talking about all the bugs and server issues ... because you already know about it ... and you don't give a dam

» You

can make private rooms. there is no need for passworded rooms. however it would be alot easier than having to go to community to accept the message to join the private game.

Socom used to be so much better on the PS2.

I won't even bother with another Socom game until they bring back a single player campaign.

» To Gino D.! & All 3 posters...

they've already talked about this... & it's funny how all of people rag on this game! I've played this since Day 1 (/1st day out). Loved everyone of them! Ya the "Not having single player" kinda sucks... but I have other games for that.

So here's the site you all should check out before posting this/commenting... It's funny because this is actually their 6th update! & they have talked about the bugs & what not already.

Here's a little snippet from what Seth Luisi said: "First, I wanted to mention that the 1.30 update contains fixes for over 100 issues"

So go check it out & update more people on here!

Thanks, Spawn

» Yeah...

Was about to say the same thing, they are fixing ALOT of issues, they just keep announcing each big one seperately....

Seriously, I just want this patch to drop....because if they fix the hiccups and pop-in durring gameplay, along with quickplay style matchmaking, I will be very happy....

The game rocks, has wicked graphics, awesome lighting (first game where hiding in shadows is actually valuable online), amazing sound, and very accurate to reality guns/shooting.....it's just the little bugs that are annoying, and if this patch smooths them out, i'll be playing it non-stop again....
