New Gran Turismo 5 update incoming to pimp your ride

A new update will be coming over to Gran Turismo 5. According to Kazunori Yamauchi, this one will be giving you a more "premium" experience, if you know what I mean. Well, of course you don't. You'll have to read on to find out what's in this update.

The Polyphony boss explained in the latest edition of Famitsu that some standard cars will be updated to Premium status. Now you can say your ride's totally pimped in GT5. Premium cars are the ones who hold a great level of detail to its design. He did not, however, say when this update will be arriving. Still, at least we can all look forward to getting Premium-ed.

Premium cars have insidie details, so you can have the "driver experience" and not only two indicators of speed and RPM on your screen on First person view ( lame...)..
I don't use standard cars because they don't have inside view :-( ( and is sad because there are a lot of cool cars on Standard..).. but I hope they keep pumping this updates, I am pretty sure this is due to their "unfinished " works..

I'm sick of everyone whining about the standard cars. They should have never separated the two into separate sections to begin with, it only gave people something to bitch about.

If it wasn't for the designation of "standard", or the lack of in in car view, nobody would even be able to tell the difference between standard and premium cars, period.

you must be kidding.... most standard cars are closer to GT4 than GT5 quality cars... ffs, most of them have door pullers painted into the door instead of modelled...

I completely agree, and the inside view is so standard for most car, just a few tweaks and you could use a panel from a premium to the other 'standard" release...but they didn't do it, and because that the game feels "unfinished".
I felt pretty cheated when i understood the inside view was only "premium"..was like WTF???? I want to ride the vacuum cleaner from teh inside!!!

Favorite racing game. I'm glad they plan to continuously update this game. I just want that shadow smoothing patch to be released that they were talking about applying.

You mean the odd triangle flipping shadow effect?? Is pretty lame!!!
Actually the game itself feels like a glorified PS2 GT 4 game engine ... I was waiting something more "smooth"...but overall is a great game...

These premium car tweaks should have been there from the beginning. At least we can get them soon. The only thing I hate about this kind of thing is when they decide not to support this game years from now, you will no longer be able to get these updates because they discontinued online support.

I could careless about the premium/standard crap. What i wanna know is, Why the hell is there no Porsche in the game?! i wanna drive a beautiful 911 Turbo or a carerra (sp?)

thy best 'premiumise' the suzuki escudo dirt car or the veyron at least.

that and the skyline safety car (all 3 i have and wish were premium)
