3d realms - Image 1 The new issue of Game Informer is a particularly interesting one as there's a feature on an upcoming game called Earth No More from the producer of such titles as Max Payne, Descent and Wolfenstein.

Yup, 3D Realms is at it again, and Game Informer's four-page feature says that Earth No More will come for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.

The game is going to be another shooting game where  new, imaginative weapons are in store and team play is crucial. The bad news for future users is that the enemies in single player campaigns have also been given enough AI to actually gang up on you and move in such a way that you won't have a chance to recover and regroup.

Clearly, team play is the operative idea that the developers want to foster here. Does that mean you'll be playing in a squad? Not exactly. "The development team is specifically moving away from what they call the 'lone hero,' while also avoiding a squad-based direction." says Raphael von Liemp of 3D Realms.

"The team is intricately analyzing how group dynamics work in movies like the Alien, The Thing, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and 28 Days Later, hoping to emulate that kind of tension in game form," adds Scott Miller, one of colleagues.

The new Game Informer issue is out now for Subscribers and will be in stands around Thursday. We'll give you more Earth No More news when it's in hand.
