The Kingdom Hearts II staff is also working on FF Versus XIII so you can expect a strong sense of action in the game. Developers have also been talking about allowing the characters to use several weapons such as a sword, axe, spear, mace and bow gun, among others. Details on the other possible weapons are still being kept secret.
As mentioned, the world the game's set in will be very different. FF Versus XIII is set in what looks like a modern-day Japan where swords and magic (still) exist. Players will really get a sense of fantasy just by looking at the graphics and at the setting of the game.
Unfortunately, we have to wait until 2008 to try this game out for ourselves. Content yourselves with these screenshots first.

Has anyone seen the actual trailer??? Because from the looks of the screens it could be even more awesome than FFXIII.
This looks really generic, guess thats nomura at his best though. Generic androgenous metrosexual pouty hero seems to be the only main character he can desig, plus "oo flying swords thats super cool" ;)
some people are just never pleased about anything. the game looks sweet. and you're probably an X Box fanboy that's jealous that PS3 owners get the *true* Final Fantasy games, while Wii and 360 owners get a sequel to Crystal Cronicles (snicker), and Final Fantasy XI. also, the game is still two years out, they've barely begun production on the title yet, and you're calling it "generic." having worked in the gaming industry for three years, on numerous titles, i've seen how games can change over the course of a few months, let alone two years. hell, just look at how different Untold Legends looks from it's original unvieling a few months ago, to it's playable debut at E3, to it's current form now. people seriously need to stop judging things before they even come out, or are shown in playable form.
this is getting seriously annoying, why is everyone who posts a cynic?
Who the ***** cares about XIII, we haven't even reached XII yet? Lucas already created a rupture in universe by releasing prequels after sequels... let's hope that XIII doesn't come out before XII.
Just saying that i think this game is going to be great. Looks better than anything ive ever seen! People should just get over the critizems and say it's actually good
