New details and screens for Gran Turismo: HD |
Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi discussed details of Gran Turismo: HD, including the split modes of the game. But what's interesting are the new details that Yamauchi let slip in the talk. First is that Sony will put up a PlayStation Store service and of course GT HD is included.
The PlayStation Store is accessible in the PS3's main menu and players will be able to buy new cars and tracks of the game. At the launch of the service, 30 new cars and one new course will be downloadable for the premium mode and it will be updated with more cars and tracks as the service progresses. The classic mode has a target of 770 new cars, 51 courses and 4,500 items, but at the start of the service only 51 items will be downloadable.
Another interesting revelation is the plans of Polyphony Digital to add car damage into GT HD and it will be available some time in 2007. An updated AI routine is also revealed in the talk which will be available for download in the first half of 2007.
Meanwhile, the GT HD demo in the TGS event features a choice between "normal" and "professional" driving models, with Yamauchi commenting that "professional" offers more realistic driving experience. Yamauchi also updated the audiences on the developments for GT5. He said that it's taking them more time to develop the game, with one car for GT5 taking half a year to develop. He hinted that it may be available in 2008. Anyway, these screens came from the French website, Jeuxfrance.com.

I read on the internet that GT HD will be very cheap to buy!(maybe free in the HDD of all PS3, i wish).
And the Blu-ray disk will have every thing that GT4 has. Except they want to make change of the game on the fly via online so you dont have to wait to play it if you already happy with what are in the disk.
no internet no gt hd ,do they think everyone has internet at home ,wake up sony .
How can you post if you don't have internet.
By the way i hope everyone have internet at home! It's the minimum in 2006!
alert that is why they will also be offering it on Blu-ray, people need to research before they make accusations.
how did i post this ,with my wii mote ,wake up dude. to download cars ,tracks you need the net.
ps2 on line 20 percent ,80 percent not on line .
Alot of games do this. Like Project Gotham racing for example.
It lacks alot of cars, and tracks. Then they offer car packs for 4.99 each.
At least they are re doing the content for GT HD for 1080p. Which will look twice as nice as anything in 720p.
If you think this games a rip off, everyone needs to check how much Xbox fans wasted on PGR and PGR2. The game, 60 bucks, Car packs 5 bucks, add it all together and you have a waste of money with less then HALF the stuff GT has always had.
Its sad. The Original GT and GT2 had more content then any racing game on the Xbox or Xbox360 so far.
the say another lie some time on 2007 hey wheres GT mobile they supose to launch the game sometime on 2006 and i don't see the game even on a launch list what the @#CK they think we r come on man!!!! by the way @the alert stop being a kid and a nintendo fan boy if you dont have internet you are a caveman on what country you live cause even africa they have internet.
you must be a wii lover,in africa only 5percent got internet, dumbas s,25 percent of the world got the net.
to the fat ass american kid on drugs ,how did i post this with the wiimote.wake up ,and loss some weight fat ass.
Hmm it still looks better then forza2 and its technically a PS2 game.
This game is comming together graphically awsome, but the only ting is well...., If they spend to much time on graphics gameplay is going to be missing out. We'll see if it goes into as much detail as forza 2. Such as EVERY part in the car is modeled in 3D, every part can break of and has a different effect on the performance of the car, Slipstreams, realistic paint scratches, ect...
But it has good grpahics, idk which do you prefer?......
first off these pictures look too real. I dont think that its a game. I think they took real pictures of real cars. anyway about the online thing. the xbox360 really needs the internet. if the xbox didnt have live it wouldent be out right now. so if anyones b-i-t-ching about using the internet they need to talk to microsoft. so #2 stop hating on sony you damn fanboy.
There will have Ferrari cars ????
HELL YEA !!!!! I just hope some time they get the Lamborghini because i want to drive a Miura.
THESE ARE CUTSCENES YOU GOD DAMN MEXICANS!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! THE PS3 DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO PRODUCE THAT!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! !!!!!! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME, WAIT UNTIL THE GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE COMES OUT. THESE ARE HIGH END SILICON GRAPHICS RENDERED CUTSCENES!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! !!!
"THESE ARE CUTSCENES YOU GOD DAMN MEXICANS!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! !!!"
First of all, What problem you have with us mexicans??? I haven't done you nothing so stop f*cking you a**hole and second i have GT4 and it looked great so i think this GT will be great too.
GT4 was the peak of simulation racing. It had everything you could ever imagine, realistic physics, cars, tracks, cars, cars, cars.
They are reworking everything in the game and releasing it as they go. GT4 was YEARS in the making. It was delayed several times and when it was released, it sold because the game itself is the best when it comes to simluation racing games.
Other games out there focus too much on useless aspects of racing. The point of racing is to drive better. When you drive better your times get shorter. Damaged cars dont drive the same as a car in its best condition. Thats what GT stresses the most, is technique.
All the other games can add car damage, reduced car performace, but in the end, people will turn those options off because when your racing against the computer and you crash once, your cars performance has taken a hit. You will then never be able to catch back up no matter how good a driver you are. So what do people do, restart the race.
The idea of Car Damage and performance reducing damage isnt something that will be big. Imagine if someone fish tails you in an online race. You spin out crash into a wall, your car is damaged and so if your performance. Then you will have no chance to play catchup even if your a good driver because your car will not perform good.
So, other developers may think they are adding realism to the game, but all they are adding is more annoying features that people will either ignore, or as in online play, take advantage of. In a racing game technique should always be the deciding factor in winning, not the condition of the car.
"GT4 was the peak of simulation racing. It had everything you could ever imagine, realistic physics, cars, tracks, cars, cars, cars."
Yea such great physics that they NEVER include damage, EVER.
