New Dark Sector images: less sci-fi, more realism |
Ó
A few days ago, Dark Sector's game director Steve Sinclair finally shed light on the storyline of the mysterious game heading to the Xbox 360 and PS3. It didn't take long for the folks over at Digital Extremes to churn out screenshots to go along with the revelations.
In the game, all eyes are on Haden Tenno, a hired assassin tasked to look into the experiments that have gone horribly wrong, causing humans and animals to morph into monsters.
Sinclair and the development team admitted that Dark Sector has undergone considerable changes to add more realism to the game's setting. And one way to confirm this is by simply looking at the new images below. Without a doubt, the graphical representation of the environment and characters has gotten less of the sci-fi feel and more of the realism that fans of next-gen games are clamoring for.

i liked the old dark sector! man i hope they keep the same theme music. :(
I'll skip this one. Sad really...
I hate that they ditched the whole sci-fi bit. Those games are becoming more and more rare.
Also the fact that once again we are fighting monsters. It seems that developers take the easy way out by having the player battle monsters so that they have an excuse to have a high difficulty and so they dont have to create more complex AI since monsters just go after you.
If you want to impress us, create believable human enemies. Thats why i loved FEAR when it first came out. Because the whole game your battling humans who are smart. Not some cheap hard to kill monsters!
sad realy, this game had soo much and now its fallen into the pit of uniformity :(
The pics do look good though. I hope they do make the control good as well as the story. We'll see when more details come out.
