New Burnout 5 images

QJ reader Bobby has pointed us in the direction of new images of Criterion Games' upcoming title Burnout 5 (thanks, Bobby!). According to the website where we got these images from, these are ripped from "a PDF document of the article in OPM about Burnout 5".

These images are really looking pretty good, especially the awesome crash images. Alex Ward has talked about how good the crashes will look like in Burnout 5 (he said it was gonna be "beyond everything you've ever seen, beyond anything that we've ever done"), and by the look of things, he sure wasn't lying.

Anyway, check out the images below. If you wanna check out the PDF of the OPM article you can get it from the Criterion Games website.

wow just because a game looks better and has better physics and better crashes doesnt mean it has bad gameplay, and also just because a game is on the wii doesnt mean it has better gameplay, and who can tell at this point how a game plays? I was commenting on how kick ass it looks and how your car can be torn in half by a semi. again... Looks Amazing.

from the length they have on it, the entire map looks no more than 5 km wide, so it's only about 3 miles...

Burnout isnt a bad game but I make fun of their cheap rip offs of real cars...oh how I love cheap immitations.

I own Burnout 1 - 4 and played all games. After Burnout 2, the gameplay fun decreased every title, and that EA bought Criterion was very bad... And for 2 players (with splitscreen), Burnout 2 ist still the best game. I think Burnout 2 also had the best sound and the best streets (tracks). Sure the graphic of Burnout 5 looks great, let's hope that the gameplay will be good too. And a big thank you to Criterion for the great Burnout games !!!

But so does every concept render, and artwork. Im sure it will be amazing (Big burnout fan) but these show nothing than concepts. One thing you can count on though, is that the crashes in this new burnout will blow your mind. The devs said they set the bar with revenge, now its time to blow you away. Cant wait.

Criterion really is briliant! But that first picture is not in-game. Bullcrap! It's a fake concept art or whatever. And, yeah, Chainsaw, I feel for you as I've read exactly the same disgruntled opinion of yours from another user in another forum regarding the difference between the fun factor of the first 2 Burnout games & that of the later Burnout games owned by EA.
