 Uncharted - Image 1

It seems that EDGE isn't the only magazine which will feature Uncharted: Drake's Fortune in its next issue. The online site of Game Informer just announced that the next issue of its mag will take the wraps off Naughty Dog's latest creation. And please don't say the magazine has no reason to boast as it has every right to do so.

Wonder why? Well, let's just say that the developer provided them with the first ever 3D screenshot - a screen in all three-dimensional glorious details! You really have to see it to believe it. Anyway, while the 3D image is still very early in its development, the moving screen shows the dynamic lightning technique that will be used in-game.

Also, Game Informer said that the game will have pirates. Yep, bloody pirates, but that is reserved for next issue. The real treat here is the screenshot (you will need Quicktime to view it). So go ahead, download, and have fun!

ahahahahaha

you guys have all said the same thing over and over! "hmm looks good, but meh~ I'm not impressed~"

wha??

looks meh? I'd suggest you open your eyes and see that it is a still 3D render of the shot. It'd look much better in motion but it still looks awesome. I guess people aren't that impressed anymore...whens the next gears again? oh right, UT 3. That's when people will become impressed.

We all have our eyes open...

...and therefore we are expressing our OPINIONS. Like I said, for me it looks good, but I'm not seeing anything special here. If later screenshots and videos of the game are more impressive, then so be it, but right NOW, based upon that 3D screenshot, I'm not blown away.

Finally

At last there's a good looking game that's not set in some generic, post-apocalyptic, delapidated, broken city. This game doesn't look as good as Gears of War, but I'll wager that it's more dificult to render nature than it is to render buildings.

wahh

Cant you people on the PS3 get by without mentioning the 360 or Gears on any post ?.

Looks amazing

I think it looks bloody fantastic, considering the game's not out for months and months, and this is a still shot, where we can see every imperfection. And it doesn't have all the filtering that most games do these days. There's only so much you can add bloom to before it looks awful. And there's no way this game will play badly. Look at the developer's pedigree.

There are no guarentees!

"And there's no way this game will play badly. Look at the developer's pedigree." Of course it could play badly, we don;t know how this game will turn out. It could be good it could be bad. The developers past is no guarentee of quality gameplay for a new IP.
