Naughty Dog: Uncharted 2 not getting a single-player demo |

Tough luck, single-player fans. Naughty Dog has confirmed that there won't be any single-player demo for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. According to top Dog Evan Wells, collapsing Uncharted 2's whole experience into a 15-minute demo is just too tall an order.
"It's a 12-15 hour experience and you have to somehow collapse that into 15 minutes," Wells told 1Up. "I mean, we have something like hundreds of moves to train you over several hours, and if you just drop somebody into the fire.."
Creative director Amy Hennig, however, added that even though it's hard to take a slice, the multiplayer demo "actually gives you that, "if you're enjoying this gameplay, you're going to enjoy single-player gameplay," which is certainly a benefit that we didn't have last time."
Too bad. I'm not really a multiplayer guy (except for fighting games), but I'll take what I can get. I bet Mabie would too. Plus, replayability is likely to be higher in a multiplayer demo. What do you guys think?
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is out October 13.

When is that coming out?
A demo isn't necessary. I will be buying it since I enjoyed the first one so much.
At first, I said, "NOOOooo..." Then I thought, "Hey, this could be a good thing!" I'll be buying the game anyway, and until then, I'm trying my best to avoid any potential spoilers regarding the single-player mode. And Naughty Dog not releasing an SP demo definitely helps me out on this. Good call, ND!
A single player demo could actually hurt it in some way. The inFamous demo was pretty dull and had me and a few friends put off trying the full game though I had already pre-ordered it for Uncharted 2's beta. Turned out inFamous full game was great fun after all. This can sell just on it's hype, the multiplayer demo and the fact I reckon most PS3 owners with any sense have owned or at least played the first game and are wanting this like crazy. I know I am. 'Too bad. I'm not really a multiplayer guy (except for fighting games), but I'll take what I can get. ' I'm not sold on fighting games online, the lag seems to kill a good match more than any other type of game. I love multiplayer in things like Burnout and LittleBigPlanet and I LOVED the co op multiplayer in the Uncharted 2 beta and miss it greatly since the demo expired.
