NASCAR 09 cover star, release date, other details announced

Electronic Arts has chosen veteran Jeff Gordon

With multiple high-profile victories under his belt, to appear on NASCAR 09's cover. Along with the announcement, EA revealed that the next season of intense NASCAR action will hit shelves this June 10 for Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and PS2.

Being 6th all time in Cup Series wins with 81 and a four-time Sprint Cup Series champion, Gordon is not only going to be the face of NASCAR 09, but also be a part of the game's "Sprint for the Cup" career mode in which he'll take players by hand on the road to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.

Developed by EA Tiburon, NASCAR 09 is said to don a new handling system that makes it accessible to newcomers yet challenging for experienced drivers. To let you know how it's going to look like, screenshots are below.

The last one was absolutely horrible. Lets hope this ones better.

Is it me or is the yellow car in the back of the 3rd screenshot missing its front right tire?
