Namco Bandai says Patty was never meant for Tales of Vesperia 360

Ó

Is Patty the lady pirate coming to the Xbox 360 version of Tales of Vesperia? As if it wasn't bad enough that the PlayStation 3 version will be getting her for sure, word's been going around that she will be coming the the green console as well -- a rather big tease, they'd say.

First "circumstantial evidence": a woman's pirate hat inside a drawer. A message was found, but it was cut off. What was seen, however, were the letters "Pa...". And then some Japanese compu-sleuths examined the ISO in hex editors and found a mysterious "PAT" callout within.

It could be Patrick Starfish for all we know, but fans would much rather have Patty, am sure.

You can call me Patty, too...

Because there's so much assumptions going on, Japanese tech news site IT Media decided to go straight to source, Namco Bandai, from which they got a flatout denial that Patty was ever coming to the 360 but was cut out. "Absolutely not. The text does appear in the game, but it does not refer to Patty."

But will there ever be a chance to have Patty, along with other PS3-exclusive Vesperia features jumping aboard the 360 via DLC? "That is currently unknown," said the NB rep.

We'll let you know once it does get known.

Surprised you haven't heard of the tales games. But yes, this an RPG. The battle system is action-oriented like Star Ocean. You should search youtube for some gameplay videos before you buy it. I personally haven't really enjoyed any Tales games lately besides Destiny, Phantasia and Legendia though. I've heard Vesperia is very good though.

Yea the first few games were really good, I really enjoyed tales of phantasia for the SNES. It really should have stopped there though... I felt about 70% of the later series is weak, although I haven't tried Vesperia yet

Wth are you talking about Saint? This is not sonic where you can say" It should have stopped with this game and blah blah blah "

You may not have enjoyed the other Tales, but other people have, and as long as there is a market for this game, the tales studio will continue to make those games.

Personally i've enjoyed most of those games.

As soon as there is a preorder somewhere, I'm buying this. Hip hip hooray, another good RPG for the ps3!

I'd also like to see a non-*****ed up version of Last Remnant for PS3, if that ever happens.

# I feel what he's saying but.*****bandit 2009-04-18 17:45
I wouldn't go so far as to say they should've stopped after Phantasia. I just haven't been too thrilled about the battle system once the Symphonia series came out. Legendia had the right ideas but the sounds and most of the impact during combat couldn't really be felt. The other games just felt like a watered down version of Star Ocean 3, and they really felt too button-masher-ish. Not to say you can't do some decent combos, but most of them just involve mashing a single button or skill spamming. If you've played through all of SO3 (including the latter difficulties) you know what I'm saying. I'm not gonna say the Tales games have sucked after Destiny, but they certainly need an overhaul on the battle system if they want it to really stand up to the better RPGs. Hopefully Vesperia can change my mind.

I'm pretty sure SE is working on it still. That and SO4 were both initially developed for PS3. I don't see why Square would just drop those projects completely considering they have a massive following/market for RPGs on PS platforms. If this and Ninja Gaiden 2 are any indication then I'd expect SO4 and Last Remnant to follow with bonus and improved content.

is absolutely horrible. It was probably rushed by the looks of it. Sluggish as hell and in battle slowdown 90% of the time. Also messes up the trigger timing since slow down and random speed ups. I'm currently playing the PC one and it is much better with no rare slow downs and I have all the settings turned to the max, though I am running an 8800GT. Tried playing with the keyboard and I didn't like it so much. So I went out and bought the Xbox 360 wireless receiver. Weird thing is button settings default to xbox 360 so if you playing with keyboard it still shows A B X Y LB RB and such, you can change it to keyboard though so it's not much of a problem, just don't know why its defaulted. I also heard they made improvements to the leveling system, still don't like it. Whole point is to fight monsties way higher than you to gain stats while not gaining BR. I didn't know that and practically played through the whole first disc )atleast I think that's where the first disc ended) just chaining as many monsties as possible. Now I have extremely high BR and low stats and everything is ridiculously hard now.

# Vesperia is a great gamephiyuku 2009-04-18 17:58
I just can't seem to get through it cause I felt like I have gone through what should have been 3 endings. Game is really long though but at the moment I'm trying to finish Last Remnant on PC. I swore I beat it at where I think is end of Disc 1 and was pissed off at how it ended. Vesperia was kind of the same with what seemed to be the first ending but I swore I woulda finished the game with what seemed like the second ending.
