PS3 fans have rejoiced when it was confirmed that Tri-Crescendo's musically-inclined JRPG Eternal Sonata (Trusty Bell: Chopin no Yume in Japan) would be ported over to the Sony PS3 console. But here's the sad part: according to Namco Bandai US, the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata won't be released outside of Japan.

At least, there is no word about the game's release in regions other than Japan. "I canÂ’t speak for any other territories, but I believe Eternal Sonata (Xbox 360, PS3) is only announced for the PS3 in Japan right now," said the Namco Bandai spokesperson, who continued that they have no plans in publishing the game in the US.

It's too bad, if ever the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata indeed won't see the light of day in US and other regions. It will feature additional content, such as Crescendo and Serenade becoming playable characters, and the ability to change character clothing.

Of course, the statement above isn't an outright "no," and there's still a possibility that we'll get the game in the soon, in case things look up. Let's just all hope that Namco Bandai will include a Western release of the game in their future.

# well if you can understand Japanese..NarooN 2008-06-02 15:47
Then just import it. The PS3 can read games from all regions unless this one is region locked.

@NarooN: Like I can read this...

Maybe with 10 000 or more signature, they would like to make the game pop in the US too. At least I'd be happy! Or someone could post their mail box (not email) adress and we could just all send them one letter (real one). I mean, maybe 5k emails doesn't seem THAT much (since you see the 5k news mail) but havin 5k real mail coming, it's HUDGE! Tons of bags of letters, lol. I suppose they would change their mind. :D

This game had one of the worst stories ever in a RPG. The ending was long and it had one of the worst endings EVER in a RPG.

Dude...Final Fantasy XII is not even two years old yet. Lost Oddyssey only came out in February. You are going to tell me that this game is the best RPG in years?

I am a big RPG fan but this game looked wack from the start. I will admit that I am happy that they decided to take its exlucivity away from 360, but I can't say im very upset that I wont get to buy it.

# namco-bandai you will be making a mistakexche78x 2008-06-05 03:01
not releasing this for US ps3 as soon as possible will only lead to lost possible profit.

to tell you frankly although Burst Limit looks spectacular i can pretty much say i would prefer the fresh story rpg Eternal Sonata over an old enhanced fighting game.

i live in japan but i dont read japanese so no english version of this game for ps3 simply means i would have to import the us 360 version hehehe.
